Hey everyone! Happy be-lated Valentine's Day. I hope you all had lots
of Love to give and get on V-Day! Sorry I didn't get my blog in for
Episode 6, so this week will be for Episode 6 and 7. We were working
on some fun things for the last episode, and also, we did a great
special on the Tyra Banks show (one of the Executive Producers of True
Beauty). So tune in Monday Feb 23rd to Tyra, then later that night for
the Finale of True Beauty on ABC!!!
I will start out by saying... I love Ray! He has a good heart, and his
mind and soul are in the right place. He's an artist, so he paints his
life everyday. I feel like he sees each day as a brand new white
canvas, and that is a beautiful thing. There is something to be said
for having a fresh new perspective everyday. He's a jokester, a
thinker, a lover, and a friend... to everyone in the house, and
everyone he comes across. There is definitely an aura to him. It was a
crazy week because Cheryl, Nole, and I had no say in the bottom 2 that
week (Episode 6). That decision was left up to the high school
volunteers. I will say, the decision surprised me, and got me
speechless for a moment. I honestly saw Ray making it to the final
few. But that's why its great to have so many different perspectives
in the judging process. As for Ray, he has a bright future. As I said,
Ray is an artist, and his work speaks for itself. There is so much
beauty that radiates in his work, and you can tell he puts his heart
into every piece. I recommend you guys checking out his website, and
you will see for yourself the wonderful things one man can create with
his inner beauty and talent.
Secondly, Laura might be one of the most fun and Beautiful girls I've
ever met. She has confidence, and a spark about her. There is a reason
Billy is drawn to her, she's magnetic. It was hard to let her go in
Episode 7 because she is another one I saw going to the final few.
There was just something that we felt was missing, and therefore we
sent her home. She is very beautiful, and young, so there is NO DOUBT
in my mind that as Laura grows into an even more Beautiful woman, she
will come into herself, and accomplish anything she wants. She's
already got the appeal, and she knows what it takes. I look forward to
seeing the busy future Laura Leigh will have.
This weeks episode was crazy because we were determining our final 3
Beautiful People, and it was not an easy job, as you saw. There was
sooo much going on that never made T.V., so I will try and explain.
There was a lot of "aggression" or "misdirected passion" we all saw
from Joel in the prior weeks. He was very vocal about not liking
Chelsea and, competing, and how he felt about others in the house. But
I felt that in this challenge, he overcame all that, and was sort of a
"softer side of himself". So, in my mind, he overcame an obstacle, and
had an arc to his personality, and showed love and respect to his
mother. To see the evolution of someone because of what they're going
through is a powerful thing. Don't get me wrong, it was hard not to
forget his anger, but we did take into consideration all the weeks,
and challenges, and inner and outer beauty. I loved meeting Billy's
dad, and seeing the two of them together, you can tell Billy has
strong family values, and it shows. His parents have raised a stand up
guy!!! What I was trying to say on the show was that I wanted to see
another side to Billy, one that let down his guard, and let us see his
True Beauty, because I know it's there. I still think he looked
fantastic, and made a wonderful impression on the judges and guests.
And he was an absolute pleasure to be around. Therefore, Billy won the
"Red Carpet Look" challenge.
Julia, was adorable, social, polite, and sweet. I loved that she went for
a unique patterned long dress, and I loved seeing how happy she was to
have her Mom by her side. Julia is another one, like Billy, that we wanted
to see a little more to. But that is a lot easier said than done, especially when
you know there are cameras around, and you are being "judged". So I can't fault
either of them for not letting their guard down when they are in a challenge with a
ton of strangers. Laura Leigh, the little "smalls", she to me took my breath away.
I love that she opted for a beautiful up-do that showed her face and features.
I think one of the sweeter parts of the show was how she never let on to her mom
that she didn't like the dress at first. She was very respectful, and sweet, and that
says a lot. She didn't want to hurt her mom's feelings, and in the end she LOVED the dress,
and how it looked. Like we said, Mom and Dad know best, haha! But we are taking into
consideration so many things. The perfect balance of inner and outer beauty.
We had made our final scores, and between the three of us, Joel, and Laura scored the
lowest, leading them to the Hall of Beauty, where Laura went home.
Next week we find a True Beauty, and it was an intense episode. I
cried, Cheryl cried, Nole held us together, and the final 3
contestants really shined!!! I am excited to share with the country,
our first True Beauty, someone who has a perfect balance of both inner
and outer Beauty... I think you'll be pleased!
Have a Beautiful Day!
Love, Vanessa
