TCA Sneak Peek - LOST

This week at the TCAs, LOST masterminds Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof shared some juicy info as to what's going down next season on the show.  As befits the enigmatic and puzzling show, they spoke carefully about the future of LOST, sharing just enough to tantalize without totally blowing any surprises.

But really, would we have it any other way?  I personally don't want to know too many details because part of the joy of LOST is the discovery and sense of mystery.  Alas, I didn't get a chance to ask them about the Giant Space Turtle concept, my pet theory as to what the Island really is.

Here's what we did learn though.  Next season the Oceanic Six will eventually be reunited in some fashion while they're off the Island.  Cuse and Lindelof acknowledged that they know fans want to see their favorite characters interacting with each other and they will ultimately reunite in some form during the fifth season.

But are they heading back?

"The Island does seem to be drawing them back," Lindelof said.  I'm going to interpret that as a definite maybe.

What about Daniel Dae Kim?  Last season his character Jin-Soon Kwon was exactly in the wrong place on the exploding freighter – namely, on board.  So is Jin really dead?  Is this last we'll see of him.

"There will be more of Daniel Dae Kim in the series," Cuse said, and then added a mysterious, "In some form…"

OK, that could be interpreted in several ways.  Ghost?  Flashback?  A glossy 8x10 photo taped to a palm tree?  Speculate at will.

As usual, the LOST creators spooned out just enough info to whet our appetites but not enough to spoil the mystery.  I wouldn't have it any other way.
