THE BACHELOR - vs Lorenzo Lamas

It's the episode everyone waits for, except perhaps The Bachelor:  it's the hometown show, where The Bachelor meets the family of the remaining women.  This week Matt faced the usual grilling from over-protective fathers and goes head-to-head with TV actor Lorenzo Lamas, star of the syndicated show Renegade (among others). 

Actually, I have to be honest.  There wasn't a lot of grilling and conflict on this episode, because Matt is so darn charming and knows the right things to say.  Plus the guy's an investment banker, which is code for "responsible adult" in most parents' eyes.  So Matt never really did butt heads with any of the family - even Lorenzo Lamas.

The best meet & greet by far was when Matt was introduced to Amanda's "family" in Florida.  In a bit of a risky move, Amanda decided to play an elaborate prank on Matt and hired actors to portray her parents.  Amanda's fake father was not fond of Matt right off the bat, and her fake mom was hilariously wanton - she was all touchy-feely with Matt during some one-on-one couch time, prompting Matt to warn her in a sing-song voice, "You're touching my nipples..." 

Amanda eventually did reveal her real family, who were boring by comparison, and the prank seemed to go over very well with Matt, who didn't mind being the butt of the joke.  A risky move, yes, but I think it will pay off for Amanda in the end.  Matt seems much more at ease with practical jokes than he does with say, women singing to him.

Of the four remaining suitors - Amanda, Chelsea, Shayne, and Noelle - only three would remain.  Sadly, my favorite Noelle was eliminated from the show.  Bummer!  During the Limo Ride of Shame, Noelle blamed herself for not opening up to Matt earlier.  It's not your fault, Noelle.  Matt's looking for somebody who is a little more outgoing and brassy.

So who is Matt going to pick?  Not only pick, but declare his undying love to and ask for her hand in marriage?   I checked with my bookie in Atlantic City and the odds-on favorite is Amanda.  A little practical joke goes a long way...

Shayne should be the one....come on let's face it she is on top....there is no comparison to any of the others. If he does not choose her he is lying to himself. Everyone knows she is more than hot!!! She is also smart and plays her cards right. You go Shayne!!

If he chooses Shayne he's crazy. He met her mom and you can see she's already turning into her.....that's not good at all. In fact, some would call that a monstrous turn of events.

Shayne is an attractive lady right now...and crazy. There are good things about crazy girls but I don't think they're appropriate to bring up in this forum, nor do I think Matt's looking for that.

Anyway, I was a little surprised by the Noelle thing as, let's face it, she's super cute. If my lady ever dumps me I'll be sure to ask Noelle out.

In the end, Amanda has to win as any lady that is willing to pull a prank like that on you should lock be the obvious choice. I called it when I saw the commercials but I didn't think anyone'd have the brass for that. Nice job Amanda!

Oh yeah, and sorry Chelsea, you're kind of cute but also pretty boring.

I think last nights show Matt actually let it slip as he mentioned the other girls used the words "love" while addressing Amanda. He mentioned Chelsea then seemed to stumble to add Shayne like she was forgotten....waiting to see next week....

Congratulations to Shane and Matt. I am Over The Moon for both of you. When they started showing the last show preview I was positive it was Shane's hand they showed and YES, it was. May your lives be full of love and happiness and beautiful babies. You've picked a gem of a Pearl in this American girl Matt. I hope you realize how fortunate you are. She is the real deal, no false pretense, open and loving. She never put any of the girls down and actually stopped some catty girl battles. Never saw her drunk like so many of them. When I saw your last two Matt, knew it had to be Shane as the other young lady was emotionless.

Oh man last night was brutal! I wish it wasn't so hard for Matt to make his final choice. It kind of ruined the joy I wanted to feel for Shane.

When he made the comment that he saw unlimited possibilities with Chelsea and that he could see how they would make an amazing couple etc..., I mean he never said anything like that about Shane. I kept hoping he would but nothing like that ever came out of his mouth.

On the last date he readily told Chelsea that he was falling in love with her and to top it off, when later commenting on the date he said she was perfect and was everything he's ever wanted. But later with Shane, when he got the framed photos (which were RAD) with "I LOVE YOU" it was like she had to drag the what seemed to be a hesitant "I'm falling in love with you"out of him. I was in shock.

Even though Shane was picked, it is sad that Shane will have to see that Matt was so totally into Chelsea. And very ho hum about her in comparison. Not from the beginning mind you, but in the end. Hopefully that was due to the editing because Shane rocks and is so deserving of a very heart- felt AND passionate love.

I think Matt made a big mistake! Shayne seems very needy & whines to much. She talks like she is talking to a baby some of the times. Matt is an adult! She may be beautiful, but I don't think she has much going for her except her looks & that usually goes in time, look at her mom! She doesn't act real mature, still seems to young for a serious relationship. If it works great, but I don't think it will. Matt I hope she makes you happy in the long run, but I think he should of picked Chelsea, I think she was more sincere & more like Matt.
