DANCE WAR - Team Bruno for the win!

The first season of Dance War came to an explosive end last night, and when the smoke cleared one team stood victorious on the field of battle – Team Bruno!

Now I can sleep at night. For weeks I have been filled with a sense of dread and hope, waiting for this day to come. As an unapologetic Bruno fan I have laughed and cried with Team Bruno, sharing with them the bitter fruit of defeat as well as the sweet nectar of success. Now, at long last, I and other Team Bruno fans across America can relax knowing that the Dance War is over and victory is ours.

Jeez, I am laying it on a little thick, aren’t I?

OK, perhaps I am exaggerating my emotional investment in the outcome of Dance War for dramatic effect, but I really was rooting for Team Bruno, despite my crush on Elizabeth from Team Carrie Ann. What can I say, I thought they were better dancers and their performances were more energetic and entertaining than their rivals. This is not to diminish the talents of T:CA in any way (particularly Elizabeth), but I thought Team Bruno did a slightly better job.

Plus – and I’ll bet this swayed a lot of votes in their favor – Bruno Tonioli rules. I don’t know if it’s the accent, or his sleek tailored outfits, or his flair for drama and hyperbole, but one thing is for sure, Bruno is entertaining as hell to watch.

You know, ABC should do a reality show just about Bruno. I would totally watch that, even if it was just a camera crew following Bruno around 24/7. Can’t you picture it?

Bruno at Starbucks: “This non-fat latte is the greatest non-fat latte in the history of non-fat lattes! Who made this wonderful creation? I must salute them!”

Bruno at the dry cleaner: “What do you mean my shirts are not ready? I cannot believe my ears, this is a tragedy! This is a dry cleaning apocalypse!”

Bruno at the movies: “Rambo was fabulous, of course, but I wanted to see more ATTACK!”

You get the picture. I want more Bruno. Fortunately, Dance War is still on my DVR so I won’t go through withdrawals, and I don’t have long to wait until the new season of Dancing with the Stars begins on March 17th.

Memo to ABC: Consider changing the name to Dancing with The Bruno.
