Welcome to the Writers’ Blog of Dirty Sexy Money. Finally, two weeks after the show premiered, here it is—what took so long? We’ve been too busy being Dirty and Sexy – whatever that means. Can writers even be sexy? Well, maybe Hemmingway or Hunter S. Thompson. Can writers be dirty? Certainly. And to prove it, each and every week we’ll be sharing dirty little secrets from our upcoming episodes and behind the scenes.
This week’s episode called, “The Italian Banker,” features one of the Darlings in a compromising position. That’s right people—a sex tape.
And I’ve seen the footage. Good times.
Which Darling do you think it is? The first person to answer correctly gets a shout-out in next week’s blog.
Not only is there a sex tape in this episode, but there are so many other Dirty Sexy moments. Last week we left off with Nick cracking the code to his father’s briefcase, finding inside a dossier on Simon Elder – the Billionaire philanthropist, played by the oh-so-sexy Blair Underwood – I said it, and I’m straight, and I dare anyone to disagree with me. So did Simon Elder kill Dutch? That’s what Nick’s wondering when he takes this discovery to the police.
Brian brought his illegitimate son home to his wife and kids, but instead of confessing his sins, he lies and tells them the boy’s a Swedish orphan named Gustav. How long will he be able to keep this secret from his suspicious wife and the clergy?
Speaking of secrets, Tripp forces Patrick to break up with his tranny girlfriend, Carmelita, before the launch of his Senatorial campaign. And they’re not hosting his launch at your run-of-the-mill banquet hall. Oh no! In grandiose Darling fashion, they’re holding it at Bvlgari, the luxurious Italian jewelry store. Nothing says “vote for me” better than a complimentary three hundred thousand dollar diamond necklace. And Jeremy’s secret affair with Natalie Kimpton, Juliet’s arch nemesis, threatens to be revealed when Natalie shows up to Patrick’s campaign launch… naked! (Okay, that last part’s not true. But I wish.)
Tune in to tonight’s episode to find out what kind of trouble the Darlings get into. Log on afterwards, we would love to hear your comments and questions. And with that, I’m going to go watch the sex tape again. Whoa- Mama!
Dirty Secrets: William Baldwin is still crying about the Yankees loss — I’m sorry, Billy, but we’re here for you. And today I heard Donald Sutherland walking down the writers’ hall, singing a song. What song was it, you ask? Well… Keep reading this blog, and once we get to know each other, these are the kinds of secrets I just may let slip.

Love the show-great job! It seems the opportunities for this show could be endless. Keep up the good work. PLEASE MAKE THE SHOW AVAILABLE ON-LINE!!!!

Which Darling do I think did it? Letitia.
LOVE the show. Thanks so much for making great escape television!
And If you could have even more Russian references(thanks for that!) I'd be in heaven. Though with Simon, I think I'll be getting enough.

When will Natalie and Juliete do their own "Sex tape?"
I also read that they really got into a fight before filming actually began? any insight?

Anybody know the name of song and artist at the end of the show last night(The Italian Banker)? Seemed like a war protest but I am not sure. I liked what I heard.
Love the show! I never liked Donald Sutherland until this show. He is terrific in this.

Hey Pat, The song at the end of the episode was a Leonard Cohen song. They actually changed the words around a bit. Still fun to hear it though.

Pat, I forgot to tell you, the title of the song is Everybody Knows. Completely appropriate for this show. ;)

I am an Italian American. I watch the show every Wed since it started love love love it. But all my friends are now calling me asking what is this Italian Banker. I really have never heard the expression. Can you comment? Really want to know.

Love the show! I think that Brian's character is awesome; I relish the irony of a member of the clergy who is constantly spewing venom by saying "I hate you." I also enjoy the twins, Jeremy's character is a riot. My only gripe is the recasting of Kiki. I liked the first one.

This is the best show I've seen in a long, long time. I love it and can't wait for next week. Thank you for bringing the Darlings and Nick.

This is my favorite new show--maybe my favorite show period this season! Thank you, ABC!

Great show! It's really fuuny, suspenseful, and interesting. I can't wait to see what happens. I think there should be a crossover with another ABC Show: like Big Shots or something. That would be funny.

LOVE the show...it's so much better than I even expected (and I was looking forward to it purely because of Peter Krause). I like the character of Brian, too, mostly because his paradox of a personality is intensely comical...ahh, the whole clan is enteraining as hell.
Also, for those who commented, the version of "Everybody Knows" was performed by Concrete Blonde and yeah, it was edited to showcase certain lyrics...I was singing along & thought, "hey those don't go there!" lol...

I LOVE the show. Everyone of you is doing a fabulous job. Seriously, it's my favorite new show of the season, even beating "Pushing Daisies", "Chuck" and "Tell Me You Love Me". I just hope we get to see more of Jyll Clayburgh. So far she didn't have a lot to do and I really like her. Glenn Fitzgerald is hilarious. I really enjoy his character.
The only thing that I don't like so much about the show is the mystery, because the characters of the show are way more interesting than the truth behind the death of Nick's father...

If Dutch and Leticia had a 40 year sexual affair, how many of the "Darling" children are Dutch's and how many are Tripp's?

Does anyone know why the third episode isn't being put online?

I absolutely Love this show! I hope like hell it stays on. So many, too many shows don't make it. And what a great cast!!! WOW
Keep it up and keep it spicy. Keep it DIRTY! I think you are on a great run here.

Dear Writers,
I also love the show! If Trip ever needs a money hungry brother from Illinois my husband would be the one. He looks exactly like Donald Sutherland and every time we go anywhere people actually take a double look. He has the same piercing blue eyes, white hair, face shape, funny nose, and is 6 foot 5" inches tall. He would be a perfect white trash money hungry brother that comes to live for a while and has an affair with Trish. She just lost Dutch and now needs a re-bound and it has to be someone that Trip trusts because that turns her on that she can get away with it in her own home. I nicknamed him Skip Darling
I would love to send you a picture if you are interested? Or have any ideas? It would be so much fun especially because we both LOVE the show. I know you said you read these before you post them so please e-mail me
and I would be happy to send you some pics.
Can't wait to see who Dutches kid is. My bet is Karen because of the nature of the love she has for Nick, but my husband thinks its the twins because Jeremy sorta looks like Nick. Hope to hear back from you

Love the show. Great story, great acting from the big stars to the smaller roles... For example on the last episode I loved one of the last characters, I think her name was Harper... Will she be in other episodes? Keep up the good work!

love love love this show. definitely going to be my favorite. Question, in the pilot show I'm sure Letitia was played by the woman who played Kitty on Dharma and Greg? Does anyone know what the change? not that I don't love Jill Clayburgh in the role. Just curious.
