A lot of people have been leaving comments after last week’s episode wondering, guessing, which one of the Darlings is not Tripp’s child but is in fact Nick’s half sibling. No, I’m not going to reveal who it is. That would be foolish and it wouldn’t be fair to all of you in the blogosphere. Is it just me or do you find the word blogosphere annoying? I discourage you from using it. What I do encourage you to do is go to Vegas and bet on who is Nick’s half-sibling. Who knows, you might win some money. I can’t believe I just advocated gambling. I guess gambling is Dirty, Sexy, and Money, right? Okay that was a bad joke. Let’s just get into it, people.
In this week’s episode, “THE BRIDGE,” Juliet and Jeremy turn twenty-five, and stand to inherit twenty-five million big ones each – but first they’ll celebrate by spending a million dollars on their yearly bash. The party planning comes to a screeching halt when Juliet refuses to include Natalie Kimpton, Jeremy’s girlfriend and Juliet’s ex-best friend, on the guest list. Juliet demands another cool mil to throw her own Marie Antoinette-themed party, complete with guillotine and ladies in waiting, while Jeremy chooses to host his extravaganza on the Brooklyn Bridge. Yeah, that’s right, the Brooklyn Bridge. Will the twins be able to reconcile their differences or will the money drive them further apart?
We left off last week’s episode with Nick climbing into the backseat of Simon Elder’s Mercedes Maybach. After weeks of trying to track down Mr. Elder, what will Nick learn from him? Will it be something about Elder’s secret business partnership with Nick’s father? Or will Simon share his coveted beauty secrets? How does his skin stay so soft and supple?
Since I already advocated gambling, maybe you all should bet on how much longer Brian can keep his love child a secret from his wife, who is constantly eyeing his every move. Or if Karen will spill the beans about Patrick’s affair to his wife Ellen in order to strike a bargain in Freddy’s favor. Or if Nick and Lisa’s marriage will come apart over a couple of ants.
All the answers to these wagers, and so much more on this week’s episode, “THE BRIDGE.”

love the show

Love this show, it's SO good. It's the surprise hit of the season. Love Peter Krause and Donald Southerland. The twins are awesome, and love the relationship that they have ("twintuition").

There is a very good question on the message boards about Tripp's red lapel pin. My guess is that is's some sort of decoration, but I figured you, the writers, would know. Has Tripp Darling ever been decorated? If he once was on the Nobel Committee, it seems possible.

I have to say that I loved Brian and Brian jr. in this episode. The part where Brian jr. tells the wife was so cute!

I have to say this - putting Tripp in a pink shirt with baby blue suspenders for dinner on the last show (Oct. 25)was divine. It was sooo sexy.

What will be nasty is if the half sibling of Nicks is KAREN.. OMG please dont make it her!!!... I think Brian would the best choice as they hate each other! Talk about TRUE justice, but the scene with Brian's wife when he was pleading for a second chance started to show Brian might have a heart.

I think it's Brian b/c he was talking about how he always felt like he didn't belong, and since Tish knew who it was, I don't think it's Karen cause she probably would of stopped it cause it's incest and that is gross.

I also think it could Brian because that is just predictable for Hollywood to have the ones that dislike each other the most to be the siblings. Though more than likely it will be the politician (Patty) because they are more similar. Do you remember when Patrick said that Nick's father was like a second father??? Was that some sort of hint or what. Also, he is the only one in the family with enough sense to have a conscious mind about the corruption of money and necessity of having goals in life.

I think the sibling who is NOT a Darling is Karen. That's basically the way Hollywood thinks. Because Karern always wanted to get with Nick. It would really be funny.

I totally think the twins are Nick's half siblings - it only makes sense! It is too obvious that Karen would be because she was "romantically" linked to Nick. So there! LOVE the show and Donald Sutherland!

In the first episode, was Nick's daughter played by Dakota Fanning's sister and then replaced? Does anyone know?

OMG i love tis show and on the episode when Brian's son left I cried. Indeed, this show is getting better and I'm wondering what does Simom have in store for Karen. Also, I can't wait to see how Jeremy going to get out of the trouble, when he is going to draw Sofia's body.

I am absolutely addicted to this brillant show. It's the only thing I watch!
The sets are exquisite, and the entire cast is perfectly selected.
Could anyone explain what Tripp's red lapel bar signifies?
Also, what kind of dog is Bingles?
Thanks for the superb entertainment.

The red Emblem that Tripp Darling wears on the left lapel of every one of his suits and jackets is called a "Lapel Accent". This sartorial innovation is an extention of the tradition that some bespoke tailors had of accentuating the edge of the lapel button hole with a different colour thread to reflect their clients' tastes. This was considered a very fashionable thing to do by Dandy Gentleman such as Beau Brummel in London in the late 1800's and by some Parisian tailors in the early 1900's. Today Lapel pins denote affiliations to different organisations or causes, while button hole contrasting can be still be requested from your tailor. Today lapel accents can be purchased from most good gentleman's tailors or outfitters or can be simply self made at home by using stretch nylon threads and metal tabs.

I've just started watching this in the UK and I don't know what is going on in later episodes, however, as for who is notTripp's child, I would really love it if the twins were from two different dads. (This situation has actually happened in real life.) It would be perfect!

While the red mark may have been an accent from a bespoke suit, it seems most likely that it is the French Legion of Honor award. NYT had an article on it a while back. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/11/fashion/11chevalier.html?pagewanted=2
