Scotty! Wally! Wally and Scotty! Can't wait.

I'm pretty sure everyone already knows my feelings on the Kevin and Robert storyline but just in case...FREE KEVIN!

Looking forward to this episode. I hope it will be good!

Jennifer

I am totally looking forward to this episode -- love Sarah/Nora/Kitty together

Michela

I'm so curious about Scotty's dad visit.... I can't wait for this episode

I believe Kevin needs to go back to his lawyer roots. I miss that sarcastic, mean, hilarious kevin that just always forgets to think before he speaks because we do not get that when he is attached to the Senators hip.
I am very excited for this episode. I am excited for every episode. The love and relationships that are very visible between all the characters really make me feel good. keep it up :)

Sylviane

Yeah! Wally!

Curious about Kitty/Sarah/Nora.

I can not imagine Kevin/Robert being interesting. It will probably be the usual case of Kevin making an idiot of himself, as he always does and Robert saving the day in all his wisdom and with the right words, because that is what HE always does. But I am prepared to be suprised...

And, happy birthday, Matthew Rhys.

Hester

Can't wait to see Scotty's scenes with his father!

FREE KEVIN FROM ROBERT!!!!!

Happy Birthday to Matthew Rhys!

Alex

FREE KEVIN!!! From Robert and Scotty.

The current "yes man" and "sorry, honey" guy pretending to be Kevin Walker is a total stranger to loyal fans who have watched the show from day one.

You want a recipe for better ratings and happier viewers? It's simple:

1) A ton more Walkers' stories and airtime.

2) A ton less non-Walkers filler stories and secondary characters.

3) Rinse and repeat for a few more years.

Thanks.

JoAnne

a little hard to watch when you have gone through all that kitty is going through. It is being portrayed so realisticly.

Still the best and fastest 45 minutes on television.

I can relate to how Kitty felt about not being able to control what was happening..I felt the same when I was diagnosed with colon cancer. Chemo treatments are not fun & it was a part of everything from the time you woke up in the morning until you were able to get some sleep that night. I'm glad that the writers are letting Kitty go through the highs and lows of having cancer. Not just saying she has it & sweeping the rest under the rug :)

Anne

I'm so pleased that TV has the courage to discuss alternative treatment!!!
I hope Kitty continues with her "alternative" treatments....!!!! Chemo is now being infused with sugar...women not losing their hair. If you have cancer, do not have sugar.
....I'm a cancer survivor.

Unfortunately, I have more complaints than praise. First, positive: Kitty's hair loss was very moving, and I loved seeing the three women together in the end.

The Scotty plot was a great start - very predictable, a little underdeveloped, but so exciting to see him in a story of his own. I also hope this was foreshadowing that he will be the biological father. I think that would be a great and fair conclusion for them to come to.

I would really have liked to see LOTS more support from Kevin, though. I often defend him against people who say he's selfish, but the few times he and Scotty were together, he was speculating about affairs or making it about his own daddy issues. That's when he was actually there, of course. I guess dealing with Robert was more important than showing any sort of concern for his husband's family issues.

Speaking of which, you honestly expect me to believe that Mr. Ambition would give up his entire campaign and career goals for a race debate? Kitty's cancer (or her personal feelings about the campaign before her diagnosis) wasn't enough, his own health wasn't enough, his children weren't enough, but one bigot will make him give up on the "big picture"???

And apparently Kevin's got a promotion - instead of just serving as a prop/lackey, he now also gets to spout off schoolyard taunts after the bigger kids have fought. Wow. All those years at law school have really paid off (BTW, nice of Nora to say he was a lawyer, but she must have missed the memo). FREE KEVIN!

Finally, I'm willing to accept that this is a family drama and thus pregnancy will be a common storyline. But two at the same time? Don't you think that, considering how socially relevant the gay surrogacy storyline is, you should let that stand out? And even beyond that objection, I can't drudge up any sort of interest in this particular one and the DRAMA I'm sure it will cause. All I'm telling myself is that a positive pregnancy test does not equal a baby. Cruel, I know. But there it is.

Kevin should NOT be reduced to Robert's cheerleader. He sure as hell doesn't deserve such pathetic treatment. Make Kevin his own man and unleash him from Robert's political whoopla. FREE KEVIN!

Great scenes between the Walker women and I'm glad to see an interesting new man for Nora.

By the way, I'd much rather have scenes of Kitty with her brothers rather than Kevin with Robert and Justin with Rebecca.

Thanks for not getting Sarah knocked up. Much appreciated.

will

Ah. Look. The episode begins with Justin jumping into bed with the vapid dingbat (I've really had it with Rebecca; sorry). He kisses her... how many times? Three? Four? Five? While lying on top of her.

But, of course, they are a straight couple. Middle America feels more "comfortable" with them.

Oh my god! I loved Rob's passion with that "you're a racist xenophobe!" speech!

We need MORE of that in politics (and this show)! Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann are racist & xenophobic, too! And Rush and Glenn Beck and Hannity!

Ok! NEW RULE! -- Have Rob Lowe directly take on Sarah Palin in a coming episode! Promo and tease the hell out of it! The episode will draw HUGE ratings! Rewrite that same scene but directed at the Tea Partyers carrying their Obama-Joker-Hitler signs! Do a direct frontal assault on FOX NEWS! "Brothers and Sisters" will be swept up into a swirl of controversy and headlines and BIG Neilsen numbers.

Work it, guys! Grow a freaking spine. Get VITAL! You're painfully wishy-washy!

Oh, I just detest Emily Van Camp. She and Dave together are like two limp noodles.

Oh, please. Scotty's sanctimoniousness at his dad's "other woman". I also detest this 1930's holier-than-thou Norma Shearer side of Scotty. Run, Kevin!! FREE KEVIN from this priggish bastard.

Ah. The gay married couples is not allowed to show physical affection again! Plus ça change...

Dreadful sappy "soulful" ballad as Kitty shaves her head. Shades of Melissa Etheridge. I suppose if I were cynical, I'd say this was her Emmy moment. I guess I liked the head shaving in a camp sort of way (I giggled and was manipulatively touched at the same time).

maria

I loved this episode... Kevin meeting Scotty's dad was so funny. I think Kevin does a good job protecting Robert- who looks so good in his suite and the tux while reading a book to Evan. I love Kitty, Sarah, Nora moment- it was so wonderful so family like. I can not believe Rebecca is pregnant- so I guess moving up the wedding and will it still be in Hawaii?? Glad Holly & Ryan was not in this episode. More Kitty/Robert and Kitty/Nora/Sarah/Kevin moments....

Jennifer

Loved the episode -- favorite for the season. Kitty/Sarah/Nora -- just lovely, all of their scenes.

Now we just need the brothers to join them for some great Walker bonding.

As far as Robert is concerned -- he's gotta leave the Republican Party and run as an independent -- drive Kitty crazy, the family will love it, and Kevin will have an easier time working for an Independent than a republican.

Sylviane

Alright. Seen it. Twice. And..

No surprises with Kevin/Robert. Still as predictably boring as ever.

I looked forward to the Scotty/Wally sl and though I was not really disappointed by it, I felt that it could have been more. But nice try and I still love Wally, but I also hope to see Bertha again.

And that start was absolutely perfect! Wally as a comic-character was just hilarious and Kevin's reaction had me laughing out loud! And Wally was so sweet when he apologized to Kevin. I see where Scotty gets his sweetness from.

The moment where Kitty stands in front of the mirror, (not) ready to shave her head was the most powerful for me.

But the rest was the same old stuff as usual. Kitty wants someting and Nora freaks out and Sarah negotiates... And then Nora considers that maybe it's not about HER feelings, but about someone else's and ... haven't we seen this all before?

Don´t get me wrong. It was well written, it was well acted, but I WATCHED it, instead of being pulled into the story.

And I felt a bit sorry for Rebecca, she seemed about to happily tell Justin that she´s pregnant, when Justin told her he would not want that to happen.... And I hope that you will DARE to go the abortion-way here. Should be interesting. We already everything else.

B.

I just wanted to say that I thought this episode was amazing. I've thoroughly enjoyed all episodes this season, and this one really encapsulated everything I love about Brothers and Sisters: the familial interactions. All of them were extremely well-constructed and immensely moving in their own ways. Thank you for this.

T.V.

Fibromyalgia ! Finally mentioned on a show with out any judgements? What do you think? I know it is not cancer. But this is the first time I heard the word on a TV show.

Alex

Raves first:

1) No Holly. No David. No Ryan... THANKS, writers!! Keep it that way!

2) Kitty/Nora/Sarah together. Need I say more?

3) Calista's acting this season. As much as I loathe the newly brain-dead, de-politicized, little-wife Kitty; I have to give props to Calista for her heart-wrenching portrayal of a cancer patient. Emmy, please!

4) Kitty's dress was simply gorgeous. Nora's dress was very nice, too. Props to costume department staff.

5) No Holly. No David. No Ryan... it bears repeating!

And now to the Rants:

1) Nora is on to her third cliched romance... First the black guy, then the married guy, and now a younger guy (cougar alert!). What's next, a priest? A lesbian affair? Come on, Sally Field and Nora Walker deserve better than this.

2) Half of the episode was wasted on filler material. Instead of Holly and her DOA storylines, we get to watch Robert and his errand boy Kevin take on "the bad guys". What is the point, exactly? And how is this relevant to the heart of the show (The Walkers)? No clue. FREE KEVIN!

3) More filler in the guise of Scotty's dad dressed up like Mr. Terrific (from The Golden Girls). It turns out he's cheating. And Scotty is s-h-o-c-k-e-d... And the audience is a-s-l-e-e-p... And this twist adds nothing to the show, or Kevin/Scotty, or anything else.

4) Tommy is still missing. But we get lots of filler stories and irrelevant characters instead. Why?

5) Another pregnancy! Why, oh, why? At least this one was done the old fashioned way (a novelty for this show); but we don't need more pregnancies every season. Are there no other stories to be told???

Scott

The best parts of the episode were easily the Walker women. Touching, genuine, and real. Beautifully executed. THIS is the core of the series and what makes it great.

Also loved Nora's new love interest. Smart, charming and fun. He'll be good for her, I can tell.

Enjoyed a few moments between Kevin/Scotty (especially that final scene), but once again for plot purposes Kevin gets tied up in Robert's Extraneous and Self-Important Political Storyline.

I wonder if these "FREE KEVIN" pleas are falling on deaf ears, because the writers seem intent on entirely ignoring the wishes of a significant number of fans. We get it, Rob Lowe likes screentime, no matter how irrelevant or much it comes at the expense of Walker characters (like Kevin). But you know what? Viewers like Brothers & Sisters more... the series that actually limited the storylines to those relating to actual Walkers.

Unless you take the storyline in an unexpected direction, I'm dreading the Rebecca/Justin pregnancy. (And the wholly cliched way in which it was revealed last night didn't help matters.)

On the whole, though, I'm still finding this season a significant improvement over last. And then this morning... I read on TV Guide that there are plans to introduce a long-lost sister for Holly. Who is going to be paired up with Tommy.

Please tell me this is a joke. My first reaction was to laugh at the utter stupidity of it all. It's like the Onion version of B&S. What is going on here? This show is written by smart and creative people, and yet these inane ideas are continually churned out.

Let me repeat: HOLLY IS NOT A WALKER. She doesn't deserve or warrant the type of individualized storylines that the Walkers do. Already people are tired of the undue focus her character deserves via the boring Ojai exploits. Give her a random family member just to shamelessly increase her screentime even more?

Expect a lot of angry and frustrated fans.

MJ ( Madrid, Spain)

I loved most of this episode. (Scotty and dad together- simply great idea!)

BUT PLEASE LISTEN TO US:

FREE KEVIN!!!!!!!!!!

Sylviane

**** And then this morning... I read on TV Guide that there are plans to introduce a long-lost sister for Holly. Who is going to be paired up with Tommy ****

You MUST be joking! This is too ridiculous! It was already a joke in 1980s.

Liz

AS a cancer survivor, I just want to say Tahnk you! Thank you! Thank you! to the writers for realistically showing how difficult this awful disease is on the patient and the family. The most difficult part of the treatment was losing my hair because everyone knew I was "sick", you can't hide it even with a good wig. This season has been so cathartic for me so Thank you. I have also been watching Grey's Anatomy handle Izzy's cancer and they have bungled it to the point that I can't watch the Izzy scenes. I can't say it enough thank you for writing such beautiful, poignant scenes!

Jennifer

Again, show rocked and can't wait for more with Calista/Sally/Rachel bringing down the house...

However, on the Tommy front...pretty please, no Holly sister drama. Instead, kill off Julia (sorry to the actress) and have Tommy in a custody battle with Julia's parents. He wins and moves in with Nora right as Kitty moves out.

teri p

Hands down, the best episode of the season. Even the series. Hands down.

you go, Ken olin!
