This Sunday: Episode 313 -- “It's Not Easy Being Green”

Written by Sherri Cooper-Landsman & Peter Calloway
Directed by Laura Innes

Sarah, Ethan and Kyle throw a launch party for Greenatopia, hoping to wow a potential investor. Nora experiences sticker shock when Roger introduces some costly but energy efficient ideas to the designs for her center. Robert and Kevin go hunting with political bigwigs in the hopes of gaining the necessary endorsements for Robert's gubernatorial campaign. Meanwhile, Rebecca's long hours working at Ojai and Justin's acquisition of a sponsee puts a strain on their relationship.

And now for some helpful links...

First of all, many of you have inquired about the various songs that we play in our episodes. There is actually a music guide on the Brothers & Sisters website, which will hopefully become a very handy resource for you:

Second, the requests for interviews with Matthew Rhys and Luke Macfarlane have been pouring in. We actually have interviews with both of them in our archive, but to save you the trouble, here are the links:

It's very quiet around Stage 6 today because the cast and crew are off filming at the beach (just why they're at the beach will be revealed to you when you see episode 319).  They couldn't have chosen a better day because the weather is BEAUTIFUL. Jealous??  Our DVD features crew is also out at the beach filming interviews for the SEASON 3 DVD, which will be available...well, sometime after the season has finished airing, of course. Tune in Sunday for a fun, heartfelt episode!

xoxo,

Thanks for the update and links to previous interviews of Matthew & Luke. We've read these already.

What we'd like are *new* ones with them. Perhaps both of them being interviewed together? Or individually? Either way, I'm not fussed ;)

Tori

Hi Elysse & Cole thank you so much for the links but - and now I seem like an entirely ungrateful spoiled brat and I'm really, really sorry for that - I was hoping for a more recent interview with Matthew Rhys ;).

Kim

Jealous? No, why? Sitting in a cold apartment in Sweden, with hard wind and below zero degrees. Good thing I can re-read those interviews to keep me warm. Thanks for blogging!

Trinity Yanson

yes, what we meant was new ones. those interviews were made ages ago. we, matthew/luke fans just can't get enough of them...

Kong Chang

I agree with the girls above me. It would be nice to have an interview of Matthew & Luke done together. Hell, even a video interview of them together would be a dream come true. C'mon, we fans want to see it. :)

Thank you Elysse & Cole,

Though I agree with previous posters that Matthew and/or Luke are on my favorites list, I can understand why we cannot have another interview with them. Sad as it may be.

Can I option for Sally Field then? Or Rachel? I LOVE Nora and Sarah.. Dave would be nice too..

I look forward to the next episode. The promo looked promising, but we also know by now that those are rather meaningless.

I hope that Robert won't be too irritating with Kevin, so that I can enjoy Kevin again.

I am curious about the Justin storyline as well. It's nice to see Justin away from Rebecca.

And I sincerely hope that Sarah will finally have a bit of FUN again, there's been too much drama for her lately.

Emma

I vote for an interview with Rachel! Make it happen!

Chris

Any Rob Lowe interviews!?!? :)

Emma

The episode was great and I was wondering if there is any way to get information about clothing worn on the show. Specifically the dress that Rebecca was wearing at the party!!

Andrea

Yes... I would love to know about the dress rebecca wore as well!

Dawson

Does anyone know the name of the song (or artist) that was played toward the end of the episode (the final song)? I checked the music guide but it wasn't listed.

Luke

The website now has a music guide - the issue with it is that it does not list all the songs that are played in an episode. Does anyone know the name of the song and artist that was played at the end of the "It's not Easy Being Green" episode?

Lee

Could you please return Kevin's spine that seems to have been removed when he went to work for Robert?

This arrangement is destroying his character. Bowing and scraping to Republicans? This is just so wrong for Kevin!

S.L.

I agree with Lee. Didn't Robert want to hire Kevin in part because of their political disagreements? We rarely see Kevin stand up to Robert and we never see him win. Robert said he wants Kevin to help him make a difference, but he really wants just another yes-man. The constant submission to Robert is destroying someone who used to be a strong and solid character - and it's wearing on my last nerve. Remember how Kevin told Scotty he wanted to be with him because he wanted to be honest about who he is? Remember how Scotty reminded Kevin earlier this season that he's been working pretty hard at that and he shouldn't give up on it for an employer? Can we please have THAT Kevin back?

Vin

Can you please restore Kevin's character to the way it was before? He would never act like that in front of a bunch of Republicans.

Please bring back the old Kevin.

Darlene

When this show started I loved it and couldn't miss an episode. But like much of Hollywood these days they started pushing their political views on to the viewers. I wonder if Hollywood would have acted differently about the war and Bush if Bin Laden had hit there instead of New York. I wonder if the show will bring up every mistake Obama makes and every promise he breaks. I wonder if the show will bring up the ridiculous amount of money being spent on the inauguration. Yes, it is a Historical event but every one of them is a Historical event. I wonder if McCain and Palin would have won and spent that much what would have been said. I mean after all that would have been just as historical having the first woman as the VP. Bottom line I can take or leave the show now. I will say the best part about the show is that it shows families at their best and worst.

Just.in...Love

FINALLY FINALLY
we got some AWESOME Justin&Rebecca scenes!!!
I really missed those two - I liked the way Rebecca was tempted but she decided just as we all knew she would - she wouldn't betray Justin. But still a nice little addition in excitement!
BUT I very much disliked the Chelsea-thing - don't rip J&R apart - it's annyoing to be concerned about Justin making a wrong turn, even though he has changed very much and really does love Becca. He might be the weaker link in this, he is sooo open-hearted about this drug-addict-girl, he thinks she really needs him, when all she wants is to have Justin for herself - I know, I know, we didn't see that yet - but this HAS to be what it's going to be about.
So J&R YAY - Chelsea - not so much ...

Brooke

I would also love to know if we can find out where to purchase clothes/accessories on Brothers and Sisters episdoes. Would LOVE to know who the green handbag is by that Rebecca carried when she got off the elevator in the white dress. Thanks!

JaneSawl

the last song of the episode is "Afterwards" (or "adored") b y Collective Soul. A very great band!
And an excellent episode! It's gonna be hard to wait 3 weeks!

Sylviane

I agree with other posters like Lee and Vin.

What on Earth happened to Kevin?! It was PAINFUL to watch this succesful, ARTICULATE lawyer, with his lovely cynical snark, act like a 3-year old throwing a tantrum. So pathetic and really sad.

I hope there must so deep dark reason for this wrecking of one of your most interesting characters.

At least, I HOPE that there will be some gratification by the end of this season. But for now, I'm horrified by the fact that you've turned Kevin into a doormat for Robert.

I had expected things to get rough, because McSaint is ALWAYS right, CANNOT be wrong, so with no other option Kevin has to be the one to get hurt, but I had not expected it to have such a fundamentally bad impact on my favorite character.

I'm truly sad to see what has happened with him so far.

Karissa

Thank you JaneSawl for the artist and title of the last song. I was looking for it too and couldn't find it on the guide. Thanks again.

Jenna

I'd like to find out who designed the purple shift dress worn by Kitty in this episode. It was stunning.

musicfan

What is the song that is played when Nora and Sarah argue? Thanks!

Trinity Yanson

dear writers: i just want to ask if all of kevin's scenes from now on will be with robert instead of scotty? cuz i'm already tired of seeing the robert/kevin scenes and all of these political crap! c'mon, kevin is my favorite character of the show and i love him more with scotty but all i'm getting these past weeks were this wimpy kevin and it's getting old. pls. give back kevin his lawyer job,he's so much more interesting and fun back then. and pls give me more kevin/scotty scenes. pretty pls....

Marta

Please give us more Kevin/Scotty scenes and less Kevin/Robert scenes.
