This Sunday- Episode 311: "A Father Dreams"
Written by Jennifer Levin & Mike Foley
Directed by Tom Amandes
Happy 2009! Finally, a new episode is upon us. The promos stirred up some heat with clips of Kevin and Julia in the throes of passion-- but don't shoot your TV yet, it was all a (painkiller-induced) dream. Knowing that, we hope you sleep easy for the next few nights. You may be in a post-holiday stupor, but if you drink a lot of water and go to bed early, you'll be refreshed and alert by 10pm Sunday night.
Here's what to expect...
Kevin has troubling dreams regarding the revelation that he is Elizabeth's biological father, dreams which bring out strong emotions from both Kevin and Tommy. Nora and Scotty vie to be the best caretaker to Kevin during his recovery from the transplant surgery. Kitty tries to cover for Kevin at Robert's office while also juggling an upcoming book tour. Meanwhile, a trip to Cooper's show-and-tell forces Justin to examine his life.

Saw the sneak peeks and once again I'm curious where this will go. It seems promissing.

As a mom of a 1 and 2 year old, I'm very distracted by the monitor. I have the same model - it works correctly in the dream but not in real life. Nora has the baby part and Kevin has the Mom part.

Do NOT allow Kevin to take over as Elizabeth's father. I will no longer watch the show if Tommy does not retain his rights as her father. That is terrible!

was that Marcy Rylan as the 1st grade teacher Lizzy from Guiding Light?

as a hardcore kevin/scotty fan,i was a bit worried about the kevin/julia kiss but i read from spoilers that it was just a dream so i was ease out a little bit too. loved the episode. it has all the ingredients that i love about this family-funny,drama,and life lessons. thanks writers for making my sunday night happy. loved all the kevin/scotty scenes as usual.more please...

One of the best episodes, so far, I guess.
I cannot chose between Nora, Kevin, Scotty and Justin for favorite character in this episode.
For one, Kevin/Scotty was great as usual. The two of them just light up my screen. I don't care if they fight or just talk, they're great. The interaction between Matthew and Luke is just fun to watch.
It was nice to see Scotty stand up for himself. I really felt sorry for Kevin, being caught in the middle between Nora and Scotty.
I think Dave did a good job with Justin. From the disaster in school, to the helping of Kevin, to the admitting his worry to Sarah. And thank you for not having him move in with Rebecca. That guy needs to learn to be independent first.
McKitty were fun to watch again. Not the endless whining about a baby, but Kitty at her best, arguing political things with Robert. And it was nice to see them have a love-life again. We'd almost forget that they are not married that long...
Sorry to say, but I didn't miss Rebecca or Holly at all. And I'm grateful for another Ryan-free episode.
Thanks for a great episode.

This has been one of my favorite shows. However after this latest episode it may not be much longer. Whatever happened to the great writers this show started with??? Have they abandoned ship? The show is turning into a farce ~ and a bad one at that.

Fun episode, despite the overdramatised promo of it.
Great dialogue. Who came up with Roger's and Nora's fantastic lines?
Roger: You want a maternal womb, incapable of expelling its progeny.
Nora: My progeny are here by choice. It's not like I'm holding them hostage!
Just brilliant.
And kudos to the end scene where Kevin gives Lizzie the liberty of liking boys..or girls. "One never knows"
Justin finally leaves the roost, and grows up. For good this time, yes?
And no Holly or Rebecca either. I didn't miss them in the least. Well done!

I just love this show! This season is really turning out some great episodes with great writing and acting. I may be alone in this but I wish Kevin wasn't gay - I kinda liked him with Julia!

This was a wonderful old-school B&S-episode. Loved all the dynamics, especially between Kevin/Scotty and Kevin + his brothers. Scotty interacting with other family members was great as well. A throughout wonderful episode. Thank you to the writers and the actors.
Oh and Matthew Rhys looks hot even when sick. No surprise there.

I love your show, but I am really getting tired of all the Gay references. If the characters want to be gay, fine, but do we have to have comments to a baby about someday having a boyfriend or girlfriend??
Get back to a substance for all fans. Not just gay ones.

In LA (broadcast, not cable or dish) the episode cut off without an ending. Kevin was calling the baby pretty lady...all of a sudden the news was on. If it isn't already there please post this episode for us Die Hard B&S fans so we can see the ending...and the previews for next week. :-)
And speaking as a heterosexual woman, the storyline was about Justin, Kitty, Nora, Tommy AND Kevin. I'd say that covers all fans wouldn't you? Loved the show as usual. Can't get enough!

Outstanding episode! Great writing, acting, and directing. The timing was just perfect:
Nora: "I am not holding them hostage!"
Scotty: "Kevin escaped!"
So many hilarious moments. I love the drama, but when you get the comedy right it's pure gold.
And Kay, if this is too much for you, please don't watch. To nitpick such a tiny point is petty.

Oh yes, Kay, it's so terrible to tell a baby that she is free to be whoever she chooses and that you will love her no matter what. Elizabeth is scarred for life!
This was my favorite episode of the season. FANTASTIC job. Thanks!

Does anyone know the song that plays when Robert and Kitty are in the office?
I have been trying to find it and it's driving me nuts.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Its great to see Kitty and Robert finally enteracting as the sexy couple that they are.
Does any know how i can obtain a copy of the beautiful B&S theme music that plays at the end of every episode?

the episode sounds awesome but the ABC Full Episode Player is not working correctly!! its keeps stopping and pausing in between words!! please go check it out && fix it!!!

I agree with several others...so glad that Holly wasn't dominating the scene...the whole thing about her being invited to family gatherings is just too much to believe. I am interested in seeing the family destroy her, however. Now that makes sense to me!!

This is my favorite show and I can't wait to see it every week...I cry almost every time at the end of the show..it is the best.

I'm straight and I love Kevin and Scotty in it. They're the best characters on the show.
It doesn't go on your sexuality or the character's sexuality who you enjoy in it.
