B&S Gears Up For Season 2 Premiere

Bikes
These Season 1 cast bikes will never be auctioned off.   Never.

It's that time of year again.  The time when the air takes on a chill and a bite, when the light wanes early, and when the pennant races heat up, boil over and then crystallize finally in triumph or despair...

Oh, and there's the new fall schedule.

And in the case of Brothers & Sisters, that means you've got a whole season of Walkerness coming your way.  I've seen cuts of  the first four episodes, and let me say honestly, as a fan of the show, that I envy you your innocence.  Losing it is something you'll really enjoy.

I went down to set today briefly to check in on the production of episode 207, entitled "36 Hours."  David Paymer is directing; you may know David as Chad Barry's manager from Season 1.  He also directed the episode "All In The Family,"  and he's done tons of acting over the years -- most memorably for me in The Larry Sanders Show, as Larry's slimy agent.

They were doing a scene with Ron Rifkin, Balthazar Getty and Matthew Rhys in Justin's bedroom.  The mood was light and professional, no sense of concern about Sunday's premiere.  This time last year, things were a lot different, at least on the fourth floor.

I asked Matthew Rhys what he thought fans of the show would be most pleasantly and unpleasantly surprised about in Season 2.  "Can I give this stuff away?" he asked.  I told him to feel free to be mysterious.  He thought for a moment and then responded, "The unions and breakups."  As always, you might say, as always.  Endings and beginnings, beginnings and endings.  The exciting start of something new paired with the cold, crushing, unexplainable collapse of what looked like a decent baseball team... but now I'm just talking about me.

But  you -- you've got a lot to look forward to.  And it all starts Sunday.

Happy weekend, go Mets!

Kudos one and all. I have loved the show since its inception and I think this season may be even greater. The season opener was wonderful.
Where can I get earrings that Calista and Rachel wear?

Who drives the wonderful Prius in the picture? We are car twins.

Loved the premiere, but...okay just one major problem and that was with Kevin's storyline...in the season finale Kevin & Eric jump into what looks like it could have been a one-night stand, than somewhere over the summer (that we haven't seen) they suddenly moved in together....moving the story a little quickly aren't we? And now Eric is leaving the country? I think Kevin's character is so central to this show and I'm confused about how the writers are coming up with his story. I don't feel any reason to root for them since I haven't been given a chance to watch their relationship, if you can call it that, develop.

JoAnne

Just watched Rachel in a Sundance Channel Movie
"very Annie Mary" and got a glimpse of Matthew Rhys.

I must be a misfit because I didn't like the premiere at all...the whole thing with Nora and her husband's prostitute (I can't even remember her name, that's how unimportant she seems to the whole show to me!!) is just too much for me...I can't imagine in my wildest dreams that Nora would/should ever embrace that character...I'm done watching...the show has now moved into the realm of unrealistic programs that so many other shows fall...what a shame when it had such potential...the "prostitute's" character is soooooooooooooo cheesey!!!!

Can you writers give Calista some dramatic material this year?

She's above this fantasy, fairtyale romance that you concoted- although she sells it because she's just that good of an actress...

I must say thanks for a wonderful premiere. My favorite part was the Kevin and Jason relationship. Eric Winter must come back, though everything happened off screen, the actors have so much chemistry and were so believable, that had no problems believing that they were in love and possibly living together.
This is my favorite love interest that Kevin has had and I hope VL you know what so Eric can come back.
