You are smarter than me. But I can speak louder.
Yes, your date is right, but when I wrote that post I SWEAR all we'd heard was August. Let this be an instructive peek into a vast corporate empire capable of moving mountains, but also capable of letting uninformed nitwits run blogs.
But yes, September 18 is looking to be the date.
Sp0ilers? Not today, boys and girls. But perhaps in the future.
Allow me to welcome a couple of folks into the Brothers & Sisters family -- Mark Perry, our wonderful new showrunner, has brought years of experience on "The Wonder Years," "One Tree Hill," and most recently, "What About Brian" into our fold. He's also brought his shiny new assistant, Andrew Major. Other new writers include the brilliant Jennifer Cecil and Liz Tigelaar, and a fabulously on-the-ball writers' assistant, Beth Schwartz.
It's going to be something special. Have a great weekend.
Dan

Thanks for finding time to post Dan.
Is Berlanti going to be staying on as either an exec producer or consulting producer?

Which episode did Calista Flockhart and Sally Field submit to the Emmy panel?
And what episode did the show submit for series?
I hope Calista submitted Mistakes Were Made, Part 1 or 2.
And I hope Sally submitted Affairs of State.

Hi
Welcome to the new people behind the scenes, and good luck. I look forward to when you start to entertain us all with your work.
However, can I ask for more on how the backstage workings work? While I'm looking forward to Greg Berlanti's new shows this fall, I hope he will be able to stick around Brothers & Sisters as well in some capacity. And how exactly does John Robin Baitz's "creator" credit differ from "showrunner?" Apart from the creator made up the show, obviously, what does showrunner do that the creator does not, and viceversa? I've never been quite clear on that.
Thanks.

Hey there. I just wanted to let you know that I heard about B&S from a friend, tuned in online, and was so hooked that I've watched the whole season in four days. And I am NOT a TV watcher - our TV doesn't get any channels. I am a TV snob, for sure. Thanks for a show that is so smart, emotionally nuanced, and fun to watch!
In particular, I appreciate the relationship between Sarah and Joe. Thank you so much for protecting their relationship from cliche (where indiscretion, urge or humdrum routine always = divorce). As a young married person, I'm aware of how marriages are seen as so disposable. It's damaging when the only media images of marriage back this up. The way you portray Joe and Sarah is tender, heartwrenching, complicated and real - like a solid real world relationship. I have never seen a TV show like this where a couple has serious issues, still love one another and soberly weigh whether or not they are able or willing to trust again and work things out. I sure hope they stick it out. While lots of stories involve the romance of falling in love, very few involve the romance of working like hell to stay in love. I think this is just one more way that "Brothers and Sisters" can rise above the fray.
Best wishes to you all!

Just a note of thanks for a wonderful show - it's a magical time slot, and you've all done it justice.
See you in September!

Listen, I am a huge fan of "Brothers & Sisters" - but fans buying a boxed set of Season One? There are really only a handful or two of scenes that resonated & are truly worthy of re-watching. Sarah talking to the marriage counselor or shrink, whatever he was, about her marriage to Joe. Rachel finally was given a rich, emotional subtext to play & she got deep into that material, completely into the moment. "Valentine's Day Massacre" I think it was.
And I think the writer's botched Kevin & Chad's break-up. There was not a whole lot of psychological sense figured out to motivate the characters, but I DO remember Matthew & Jason getting into a nice, emotional rhythm; they were PRIMED to play much more nuanced material with resonance & depth, but I am greatful for whatever we actually got. And, of course, Sally. Norah crying on the floor, mentally breaking down because of Justin's impending redeployment to Iraq; Norah tossing her wedding band into the water; just the beautiful assertiveness & magnetism Sally brings to many of her scenes. And the warmth, the compassion.
And also the playful, sometimes stupid & childish banter that Kitty & Kevin engaged in. The off-the-wall & bitchy throwaway lines they'd hurl at each other. Sometimes barely audible. They compliment each other nicely. And still, barbs & bitchiness & all, you could see the love there, underneath.

Not real sure why Will thinks that the Season 1 DVD would not be worth buying. I plan on buying it in place of the Grey's Season 3 DVD set. Love the show and keep up the good work!
Also, I was wondering if there would be more scenes next season with interaction between Kitty and Robert's kids. I think there's some really great drama and issues that could play out there. The dinner scene just brushed the surface. Looking forward to Season 2!

Note to Ashley: Word! Brothers and Sisters has absolutely replaced Grey's Anatomy in my view as well!

What a refreshing new show! I caught in online out of boredom one night and I have hardly slept at night watching the season. Great acting, poignant writing and all with a lot of heart. Congratulations and promise I'll be glued to ABC once season 2 starts.
