New Episode Sunday -- "The Valentine's Day Massacre"

Readers.

Something has been gnawing at us all week here at Brothers & Sisters. Everyday, I've said to myself, 'Jeez -- I should really write a blog.' And everyday I've nodded, then gone back to doing whatever other useless thing was at hand. I've mentioned it to a few other bloggers, and each time I get the same thing: a nod, and a lazy resumption of standard operating procedure. Disgraceful. I blame the sealed windows and lack of fresh air.

Today I had planned to go down to set and do a set diary. I even wore a pocket protector and pad holster. Then I got to work and realized we were on location. Which ironically was down the street from my house.

Regardless. The blog has imploded this week. Sorry for that. But this SUNDAY we've got a NEW episode, and perhaps one of the best so far: "The Valentine's Day Massacre," written by erstwhile bloggboys Cliff Olin and Pete Calloway. In it, Kitty goes on a very special fundraising trip with Sen. Robert McCallister, Justin reconnects with an old flame, and Kevin finds himself in a peculiarly enticing romantic bind... I think you'll be very happy about that one.

Have a great weekend.

Dan,

Thank you for keeping up posted with all that's going on with the production of B&S. We fans appreciate your fervor and constant reminder of why we love this show so much. :)

I've been dying to watch this episode since early January. LoL. And we all know why too. :) SCOTTY!! Woot! :)

Anyway, hopefully this episode will not have a ratings hit because it's on the same time as the Grammy Awards. I pray you'll maintain a good percentage of viewers from "Desperate Housewives".

Re: "Justin reconnects with an old flame, (AND ESPECIALLY ABOUT:)and Kevin finds himself in a peculiarly enticing romantic bind... I think you'll be very happy about that one." . . . YES,
I think I WILL.

OH, BOY!!

or

OH, BOYS!

Sort of got the picture when I heard this come out of Kevin's mouth in the middle of Ugly Betty: "We're both having sex with our ex-es," or something like that.

Nice Valentine's Present.

Don't let me down.

Yep thanks for the update.
Can't wait for the episode and the Senator and Kitty to get together.
We got to see some clips last night on Access Hollywood. They were great. Great chemistry although the story seemed cut short as any kind of news outlet right now is all Anna Nicole Smith . . .
Sometimes the media in this country makes one want to cry, scream, or just get their news from Stewart. ^..^

At last, a new episode of Brothers & Sisters. And I can't wait for after the Academy Awards when we can get into a consistancy of back to back episodes without interruption of the best show on TV.

I concur with your love for Scotty, Kong Chang. I am so looking forward to seeing Luke MacFarlane grace our screens once more Scotty Wendell.

Thank you to the powers that be for bringing Scotty back, even if it's just for one ep, it's well appriciated.

Although Kevin is my favorite character on the show, I love all the wonderful display of talent put fourth each week by this great cast. It really is the only show on TV I look forward to religously Sunday Nights.

And thank you Dan for taking the time out to keep us fans updated on the goings on at the Brothers & Sisters big house.

I can't wait! I was so sad to be without B&S last week...I need my weekly dose of rob lowe and co.! Plus the amazing writing and producing of course. Great job guys, keep it up, and i'll be watching tonight!

Ah< This weeks episode was one of the best ones by far! YEs, at Kitty and Senator finally getting it on!

Emma

LOVE ROB LOWE as the Sen.!!!! KEEP him on the show FOREVER! The Kitty - Senator storyline rocks! (so happy they finally kissed despite the "man diet") This show is great overall! Makes me want to have 5 kids!

CeCe

*sigh*

Another fabulous episode. The sibling phone calls were perfect and hilarious! Sally was giggleicious!

Justin is gorgeous, and OMG who wouldn't DIE to have him come in and sweep them off their feet like that? Especially with the kids in tow, which made him 100% more sweet, sincere, and gorgeous! Tyler is one lucky beeyotch!

I think it was the first time I didn't hate Holly, so yay!

Kevin/Chad/Scotty. GAH. My heart hurts for all of them. You ripped my heart out twice, tonight, and I love you for it! Nothing breaks my heart more than love that can't work out. GAH!

Kevin to Chad: "You're never going to want anything more than we have, and I'm always going to."
GAH!

Scotty to Kevin: "Now you know how hard it is to love someone who doesn't love himself."
GAH!

Did I mention, GAHHHHHH!!!??? Thank you so much, B&S, for my perfect, wonderful valentine.

Jim

Kudos to Cliff and Pete for tonight's great episode. So many witty lines-I loved it!

Jodi

What a great episode! Yes, by far one of the best. I love the one liners between the characters. Truely a very talented cast! The Emily and Nora scene was priceless! The chemistry between Kitty and the Senator is great! I love every character. I look forward to Sunday nights to laugh and cry! Thanks for another great episode! Keep going! There's lots of us out there that want to see what else happens to this family!!

Jessica

I LOVE THIS SHOW...and I loved this episode...

One thing...could you ask ABC if Brothers and Sisters could get a message board! I'm dying!!

Kong Chang

Thank you Cliff & Peter for bringing a wonderful episode tonight. It was great fun to see the first semblance of a love triangle between Kevin/Chad/Scotty although I know that Scotty won't be back for awhile, but Kevin's life is very complicated. What great lines you gave Scotty and Kevin. I concur with CeCe..those lines were torturous to hear (a total "gaaahhh" factor). But bring back Scotty...we want more Scotty? Who cares about Chad? Blah...closet cases...who needs men in self-denial?

And I agree with Rob Lowe. I think after this episode, if you make him a permanent fixture as Kitty's love interest for a long term, I wouldn't be happier. Rob deserves this role and this show. He is great. I really love him as Kitty's lover.

brian

kudos for the writers it was a fantastic show

betty

Loved last night's episode. Very witty and smart, great timing. What a great cast B & S has! Loved the interaction between Kevin & Scotty - I think, as much as I Love Kevin's character, he's kinda deserving what he's getting right now, since he blew off Scotty before and wasn't so nice to him, I guess what goes around comes around. I love Kevin's character and enjoy watching him develop and grow, which he needs to do. Love Kitty & the Senator - and this is saying alot because I loved her with Warren, but Love Rob Lowe even more. Justin was great - everyone was great last night! Can't wait for the next new episode....

LOVE THIS SHOW!!! Plans for Sunday nights, forget it, I need my weekly fix from B&S. There isn't a character I don't like. They are all FABULOUS!! Of course Sally Field has been my favorite for years; fellow Scorpio. The men are hunks, the women are gorgeous and EVERYONE is fantastically funny!!! I've taped every episode and have rewatched with delight everytime. Keep up the good work!!!

Carrie

Cliff and Pete did a fantastic job last night. One of my favorites. This show just keeps getting better and better. Keep up the great work.

macci

This episode was great. The phone bit in the beginning was perfection.

Can we have more Margot Kidder, please? Nora does need a social life outside of her kids and Lois Lane and the Flying Nun were wonderful together.

Cathy

LOVED the episode!!! But again I wish there was more Tommy.. You didn't even touch on what Tommy and Julia were doing for Valentines. I know we didn't see Joe and Sarah's date but we knew they were going out. MORE TOMMY!!!!! Love that guy!!! Love them all, but Tommy... come on!!!!

Jim

the one liners on this show are so funny. Loved when Scotty added the "ty" to his name when introduced to Chad. This show is so much better then Grey's!!!!

That beginning!....actually the near-END morphed into the beginning. Musical cell phones, a 3- (or 4-, if you count Chad) couple "morning after" sexual roundelay. Kitty on the toilet, gossipping. Everyone calling, interupting conversations, gossipping. Beautiful little gossip-fest. Sarah to Kitty. Kitty to Kevin.
Kitty: (who's been gossipping non-stop) "Kevin, you're like the CNN of our family." Kevin to Justin. Norah to Kevin. Norah to Sarah.
The actual beginning began with Norah & Justin, with funny banter:
NORAH: (about Justin's girlfriends) I didn't like that last one....Chick or...Calf or....
JUSTIN: Fawn. It was Fawn.
A note on the one-night-stand return of Scotty W., MINDREADER. There's a scene of Chad taking via cellphone to Kevin (the "morning after"), asking is he "slept" with Scotty.
SCOTTY: (eavesdropping) "Now you know how it feels to love someone who doesn't love himself." Even if Scotty's gaydar ACTIVATED when Chad approached the previous evening, even if Scotty could somehow INTUIT that Chad & Kevin slept together, how could Scotty possibly know that Chad "doesn't love himself"? Is Scotty developing a 6th sense? If I were Kevin, I'd ask Scotty what comes next with Chad. Scotty seems to have direct accesss into people's mind. And how in the world would Chad's girlfriend ever KNOW waiter Scotty well enough to set him up on a DATE? Pairing a cater-waiter up with a successful lawyer? WE love Scotty, but somebody casually pairing him up with Kevin is a bit of a plot contrivance. This was probably part of the " glorious confection" Robbie said Cliff & Pete had written.

thv

I LUV B&S! I LUV SCOTTY! He is soooo cute! Kevin needs to be with him!

will

Kong Chang: I know your heart's with Scotty, but Chad (with a little help from Jason Lewis) started to show some some real inkling of DEPTH last night. Kind of touching actually. I think it would be interesting to have him (defensively) get engaged to the girl, can't remember her name, as a way of shutting out Kevin. Chad commits to her, but STILL finds himself drawn to Kevin. Kevin knows about the engagement, feels like a dope & a heel 'cause he can't break away from Chad, who he's falling for deeply. The engagement doesn't stop the affair. Kevin starts drinking. See, that's DRAMA. There's friction! A real triangle! It's hard to think of drama with Scotty. Unless you want Kevin & Scotty to wind up like boring Sarah & Joe....

LoveIt

Loved it - laughed out loud when Kitty said this is not Indecent Proposal and she's not Demi Moore - then Senator said he's always had a thing for her - Brazilliant!! Also loved the Defamer shout reference. Such a smart show!

Leann

Amazing cast! I am so excited to see where Kitty and the Senator's relationship leads. Loved last night's episode!

Scott

Will,

Scotty knows Chad has a girlfriend (Michelle) and therefore knows he's closeted. It's not a major leap for him to assume Chad is self-loathing to a degree.

Wonderful episode, Cliff & Pete. The dialogue was sharp and the storylines engaging. The opening was pure brilliance.
