I understand that this is fiction. But to be called a liar and other insults every tiime I watch it is getting a little old. I like you show , but put a sock in Sally Field's mouth. The Republican bashing is getting a liitle much

I think this was the tightest episode. Is the focus switching to Mom (Sally Field) from Kitty? The emotional exchanges make more sense in any case. Did someone just write tired of Republican bashing? Puh-leez....

I just became a Brothers and Sisters fan. I think it is great show! What an ensemble cast. I love Sally, Calista, et. al. Tell me who is Luke MacFarlane's character?

The CHARACTER of Nora is bashing republicans, not Sally Field, just like the CHARACTER of Kitty bashes democrats, not Calista Flockhart. These are fictional characters voicing their individual opinions. I consider myself a democrat, but I wasn't offended last week when Kitty referred to their politics as "ill informed" and "touchy-feely." The characters are representing the polorization of today's political spectrum. There's really nothing to be offended about.

Hey Stephen... If you want the bashing to stop, then tell your party not to suck anymore. And if you think it's *just* Brothers & Sisters that's "bashing" the Republican Way, check in with the rest of the country. I just find it funny that little ol' Sally Field gets your panties in a bunch.

Tonight's episode was just so-so... I liked it the least among all the episodes. Can't help but notice - as the story progresses each week, the focus is getting more towards Mom. Maybe they should change the title from "Brothers & Sisters" TO "Nora Walker". I'm getting disappointed....

I just wanted to stop by and say that the show is really fantastic! I look forward to it every week!

Mmmm. I actually feel this was not the best episode by far. But not all of them can be. Dialogue/jokes rang flat, nothing felt organic, and Tommy and Julia in the closet? Totally out of character and kind of ridiculous. To sort of echo Stephen's comments, I feel like Kitty is bound and gagged while all the other characters get to lash out at her politics. She gets in a few good lines every once in awhile, but I think it would be so much more interesting if you unleash her! She's awfully tame for a right wing TV pundit, which could ruin the interesting premise of the show. Just my two cents worth, not that you asked for it.

great show last night!!!!

All the repulbicans out there need to...RELAX! LOVED the show last night--I teared up when Tommy told Julia (yeah--she speaks :) he was sterile--the look on Balty's face--so present and heartbreaking (then the humor of the public sex) and then when Sarah and her Mom talked at the end. LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!
Robbie's blob is great. Keep up the good work.

I think this has been my least favorite episode. I liked it, but there were far too many "cute" moments. I didn't like that Justin brought his boss. That feels so "t.v." to me.
I really want Kitty to be single. She is single, but like I hope the pursuit of Walter makes her realize she cares far too much about how a man defines her.
I was really glad that they let Kitty/Nora in on the company troubles. I love that it wasn't dragged out for many more episodes.
I guess what brings the episode down for me is that the party was fun, but entirely too predictable. Nothing happened that I wasn't surprised about and this wasn't about reading the synopsis before.

I love the political bantering between Nora and Kitty. Of course I agree with Nora, but the banter between the two is fantastic.
Last night's episode was fabulous. I think the show gets better every week. If Sally Field does not get an Emmy nomination for this, something is wrong.
One complaint, could wardrobe please not dress Ron Rifkin in the same gray sweater every week?

almost every point brought out in the show is true. i am from a dysfunctional family and we do need some perfect moments once in a while to continue to believe that there is hope in each.
i love every character in the show, especially kitty and warren. ha ha...

I just wanted to say that last night's episode was fantastic...one of my favorites so far this season. I am really glad we finally got a glimpse into Tommy's life...I can't wait for next week!

The other interesting thing is that, it's mostly only Nora that does the bashing - the few occasions it's been someone else, it's been more family needling/teasing than anything else. Which leads me to think that it's supposed to reflect a little poorly on Nora that she does it all the time - and also that it's personal, wrapped up in their screwed-up Kitty/Nora dynamic more political posturing. It's seems to be the rest of the family leaves the whole 'talking politics' topic to those two, knowing that it's their minefield.

I thought tonight's show was great - it was fast paced, with great story building on the writer's part. Loved it, loved it, loved it!

Just another show where Hollywood Democrats can get their word in.We're suppose to be ONE NATION, not a divided one.
Give equal time

I think the show is great! And I just wanted to commend you on the character of Kevin and the issues that surround him. You are portraying gays in the same light as the rest of the population ... we have the same problems, issues, cares, etc...as everyone else. We are not all flamboyant, overly-dramatic, sissy boys like other shows with gay character portrayls. I was shocked when on show featured Kevin's kiss - a REAL kiss - and then you did it again in the next episode. Bravo!

Thank you for showing us Julia in panties at the end of the show (and almost naked in the beginning). Despite the fact that Tommy shoots blanks, I hope they continue to have sex on the show.

I really like the show but have a problem with the homosexual theme. I understand it's a fact in our society and would continue to watch if it weren't so blatant. The whole story line is offensive to me, to say the least. You lost me and my husband as viewers.
Posted by: Gisele | October 30, 2006 at 11:02 AM
I posted a comment earlier without reading some of the previous comments, and in response to Gisele, I do come from a large family where appearances mean things to others, and I am that homosexual member in the family. My relationships, let alone my dates to family/social functions are more than just "a fact in our society." I'm finally happy to find something on tv that remotely resembles my family and the way we interact with each other, and for you to lump Kevin's storyline as offensive to you and your husband is reductive and closeminded to say the least.

Thank you so much for the charater of Kevin. I absolutely love this show and he's such a big part of that. Your portrayal of the infancy of his relationship is something rarely found in primetime dramas. I hope he keeps this boyfriend for a long time! It would be great to finally see a gay relationship last on tv!

I generally liked "For the Children," although it wasn't my favorite episode. It had some great moments, especially Nora and Sarah at the end. I'm really surprised at the anger about the politics, though. There's no law that says TV shows are supposed to pretend we don't have differences, or even that they have to present both sides of an issue. "M*A*S*H" was quite controversial, politically-speaking, in its time, but was an excellent show. Same for "All in the Family." Keep up the good work!
