Anne Heche on 'Nice Day For A Dry Wedding'
Hello Treehuggers!
What’s happening here?!?! Well, our great leader, Jenny Bicks, thought ahead and cared for us, the talent and crew of Trees and for you our fans and wrote five shows that we can shoot even though so much is going on. So we, unlike most shows, are still shooting our little (now freezing cold) tails off. We are very fortunate to be in this position. We will have enough shows to carry us through our winter break. So new shows will continue to be on the air! Go Jenny! She and our team of writers really are amazing to have been able to accomplish this task and we are very grateful. Thanks to all of them, we are now way ahead of you in what you are seeing on the air, and I can say there are many surprises ahead.
By now you have most certainly been devastated over the Patrick disaster. Let me tell you, it doesn’t get any better, for him anyway. Sorrow has taken over his bride to be and his mother. Marin is missing Jack terribly and has to find things to do and men to warm by. (Oh no! Jack come back!) Someone gets sick, someone wants to have a baby, someone gets addicted (maybe more than one) a prayer meeting gets held (in the most inappropriate of places, people want to have sex (who doesn’t?) and more hunks arrive in Elmo to stir the pot and wreak havoc on our sweet town. So keep watching and keep praying or omming or chanting, whatever you can do to help and heal. We want all our families, both imagined and real, to continue working and thriving and being treated with the respect and kindness they deserve.
Peace and love,
Anne Heche

I LOVED this episode. What an inspired piece of writing! Well done! Sam's proposal was just beautiful and we all could only hope to get one like that someday.

Anne- So nice to hear from you. Those episodes you described above sound like the show just keeps getting better and better. I hope you, the cast, the writers, and most of all ABC realize that what you have here is a cult following. We love you guys!

Loved the show!!! I am only mad that we had to wait all these months to see this show. Shame on you ABC for jerking this show around. I just cross my fingers that it can pull through. Great writing, unique characters, and fun to watch. May the writers strike end soon. For all you Felmo fans keep watching, for those that aren't, START. Can't wait until next week.

Thank you, Anne, Jenny, and the writers, cast, and crew of Men in Trees!!!!! I'm glad to know that we have lots of adventures to look forward to with the gang from Elmo.
I'm one of the ones devastated over what happened to Patrick. I feel just awful for him and Annie! (And Chief Celia too. And she just finally accepted Annie.)
How long before Jack comes home? When he came back to kiss Marin goodbye, I wanted to cheer.
And speaking of cheering, way to go Jane and Sam! Although I'm bummed about Patrick and Annie not getting married yet (I hope they do someday!), I'm glad that Jane and her Plow Guy got engaged. Maybe there'll be a wedding in Elmo this year after all.
It looks like Ben's hockey team is causing trouble for him and Theresa.
I'm also really enjoying the story with Sara and Pastor Eric.
Thanks for giving us all such a great show every week. We love what you're doing, and I hope it continues for a long time to come.
Proud Treehugger

How nice of you to blog for us.....the show always leaves us anxious for the next one.....I can only hope if the one who is sick is Cash, it will not be anything serious, he sure has grown on us and we want to keep him around...here's hoping the writers get what's coming to them.......

Anne, thanks so much for writing tonight's entry! This episode was fabulous! Sam's proposal, and Jack turning the plane around were my favorite scenes. Poor Patrick!
Thank you Jenny Bicks for your dedication!

Oh my gosh!! What a wonderful surprise to read your post, Anne. There are a lot of us out there who love and absolutely adore your show.
Tonight's Part 2 was especially good. I loved all the priceless moments from Celia and her man getting handcuffed together and seeing him stumble down the aisle to Jerome getting cleaned up. I have to say that the Jerome storyline was such a nice treat. That scene where he's looking for a book to read and his old photos was so touching.
But best of all, I have to say that your scenes with Jack were especially sweet. You guys have such great chemistry and it shows. I also always love the lines you have. The writing is perfect. Your character is so strong and admirable, but I love how we also get to see the very tender and romantic side of Marin. I was so happy to see her run out to the dock to see Jack off. And having Marin give him her scarf was a nice touch. Great work!
I wish you all the best during this difficult time. My thoughts are with you all.

What a great episode tonight! Lots of laughter and "oh my gosh"s. Can't believe about Patrick - my husband called it, though. Can't wait to hear what up with Cash. Love the chemistry between Marin and Jack. Love the Plow Guy and Jane - just love it all!!! Thanks for a great TV show and may all involved with MIT have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Anne, wow! I love your characterization of Marin so much, you make her so warm and loveable! Thank you for making her the funny, smart, romantic, beautful heroine she is, who we can all relate to, and who feels like a best friend. And THANK YOU for your half of Marin and Jack. xxxooo

I love the show- Please pas on to the writers not to kill Jack and to bring him home to Marin. Love rules

Loved tonight's episode! The story lines this week were some of the best yet. Oh, and yay for more plow guy!

How interesting that what seemed like such a travesty last spring - Men in Trees' first season being cut short, how dare they? - now means fans will be watching new episodes long after other shows have gone on hiatus. Heh, heh, heh.
Tonight's episode was brilliantly, over-the-top funny and poignant. Break-ups and get-togethers galore!
Cash is back and I'm dying to know his secret. Jack is gone but with something to remember Marin by. We know he'll be back! And Jerome. Oh my. Would it be wrong for me to say that I'm . . . um . . . just the tiniest bit in love with him?

Always a fan..Mrs.C

Hi Anne,
Thanks for filling in here for Jenny and the other writers. I hope the strike is resolved soon. But until then, please keep us "Tree Huggers" (and Fannes) informed on what is happening.
Looking forward for the rest of Season 2.

Holy Cow! What an hour of ups and downs. I am telling you , this wonderfully written and beautifully acted show just gets better and better. I had seen a story about the upcoming love interest of Jack on the Bering Sea when I googled MIT one night so I wasn't really surprised to see her in the previews, but I am certainly hoping that he comes back to Elmo soon and sweeps Marin off her feet! Poor Patrick and Annie. I hope that they can get to a better place soon. Now this show is getting down to the nitty gritty of how unpredictable life can be and it is not all fun and games and you have to sacrifice for those you love and you need to search your soul for true happiness. I think that MIT can only get better from here!!!! (If ABC doesn't start advertising this show more I am going to scream!) I was so sure though that Domino Dan was the poor thing in the hospital... so sorry it was Patrick. Can't wait to start seeing some new eye candy though! MIT, you are going to go all the way!

great show......can't wait to see the next episodes!!! you guys rock!!!:)

Wow, Jerome cleans up good!! I'm always amazed about how much you pack into one episode. I was so happy to see the 2 marriage proposals for Sam and Jane. Jack does look good in a suit. I loved how you brought Jack and Marin back together in the end. The scarf scene was so touching. I hope that they care about each other enough to sustain their separation. There's been a lot of strange behaviour in this so called season 1 finale. I hope that Ben regains his perspective and comes back from wherever he took off to and Patrick regains his memory soon. I love this new Jerome - free of facial I didn't see that coming. The sickness rock is starting to reveal itself. I hope Cash survives whatever his ailment is. Cash needs to be part of the fabric of this show. I need my Cash fix. I can't wait until next week....

This is hands down my absolute favorite show and I am so excited that we get to continue to see what happens next despite the ongoing strike! Thank you, Ms. Jenny Bicks, for your extra hard work. Fans of the show really appreciate it!

~~~Dearest Anne *another* beautiful job
from you & the team!
First, Jane&Sam...a huge thanks to *team JB* for
giving us exactly what we wanted with these two.
Jerome...WOW! Cannot wait to see what's coming next with him.
Cash...Whew! Is he Marin's
housemate again? Hope so.
Love watching them *cook*
together.
Jack...Better than any version of a "young PN"!
Hope we get to see what he
will be up to on board that boat.
Eric&Sara...Electric together{wonder why???}
Cannot wait to see more of them too.
Thanks for "filling in" for
the writers. We're behind them all the way.
ps...When Marin said to Jack "I'm not that girl",
she reminded me a bit of
Tonya Sullivan!
Hello Anne,
It is so great for once to have an actor on line. I am sure that the usual writers teams forward you all the nice messages we write on a bloggy-weekly-basis !
Great show, really. Best storylines, best plots, best acting, best dialogues, best shooting.
Please don't make it too sad or too bad for the characters. Please stand on your witty/excentric/hilarious positions and be sure we will stay on your side for ever then !
Cecile
ps Can't wait to see who is sick, who wants to have sex in funny places, who wants a baby...etc...!
Thanks for the update Anne! I was shocked by last night's ep...poor Patrick. :( And the scene with Marin and Jack...when she goes to find him at the plane...and *sigh*
I am really looking forward to what's to come for the show and I wish the writers good luck and all the best!
I loved the show last night- all of the great characters were there, the beautiful outdoor scenery and a great story line. Probably my favorite show to date. Thank you! Thanks for the updates on coming episodes Anne, I know we are all wondering how the writer's strike will impact our favorite show. Maybe being pulled off the air a little early last year became a blessing in disguise because you had episodes waiting to air and then more ready for this year. Gives the show a great chance to bring in more fans like me!
Way to go! Your show has been my mainstay on TV since the very first episode. I love you all! I am waiting for the DVD to come out...will it? Soon?
