You asked for it...

Hey, Felmoians, nothing like some pestering on the website to get a new blog out of me! Speaking of, how ’bout that fancy new webpage we have, huh? I’m still trying to figure out how to navigate it myself!

So, first up, no one panic. We will not be on the air again until we premiere October 12th. So that means don’t expect to see any reruns on Thursday or Friday nights before then. Okay? And remember, our new timeslot is 10 p.m. on Friday nights. This gives you over two weeks of downtime from Elmo to get completely ready for our Season Two return. That means, pop the popcorn, make sure you have your TV watching blanket (you know you have one), and strap in. It really is going to be a fun ride.

We are deep into filming in Vancouver at this point – shooting our sixth episode back, which will be the twelfth episode you see this year (remember, we have five episodes from last year that will air after our new season premiere). The whole gang up there has been hard at work, and we have some new twists and turns. Cash is still around... and soon you will meet Julia, Jack’s new workmate. We are going up into the mountains and out to sea... Just another day in Elmo!

I have read many of your posts on the new message board and am curious – why do you think the church Eric runs is Catholic? We were very specific to dress it as a Lutheran church could be dressed... Also, yes, we shoot in Squamish, a great little town north of Vancouver (and on the way to the site for the next winter Olympics, which means many road construction nightmares! Many men in trees... and backhoes!). Oh, and I love Jane and Plow Guy, too. They are not done with each other, so stay tuned...

As soon as we start airing, we will start to do weekly blogs as we did last year, written by the writer of that week’s episode. So, more blogs, more episodes, more fun... It’s all good!

Jenny

Hey I'm the first to comment!

I have a question about Cash, who is he and where did he come from? I know Cash is short for Cassius, I got that part, but please tell me what he does and how he came to Elmo. I saw that episode twice but I kept missing the story behind Cash. Please clarify!

Have fun with shooting the show and I put in the request with Warner Bros for a DVD set so all the other Felmoians should get on board and put in a request too!

My big concern is that people who are "out of the loop" will not know what is going on anymore. Will the 8.9 million viewers return this season? The show jumped around so much that it was hard to track when it aired. (Another great reason for a DVD set so that the viewers can catch up).

I have HDTV and the HD resolution of the show is soooo crisp, the color soooo vivid, it hurts the eyes. How on eath did you ever get a videocamera so great!!!

I ca't get over the resolution, it looks better then real life. I'm just floored!

Bye for now and good luck with your episodes and have fun fun fun. P.S. Don't forget to write alot of that saucy Jack and Marin into this season too!

It is SOOOO GREAT to read something new from you, Jenny! I'm loving the new website layout as well, and the music video. I hope it will tide me over until Elmo returns to us in a couple weeks!

Thanks for the new update. Cannot wait for the new season to start! Two weeks sounds like an eternity to wait. Will have all snacks and blanket ready and waiting-haha.

I CAN'T WAIT!!! I'm so happy that we're less than three weeks away from the return of one of my favorite shows! I'll be doing a happy dance here in New Hampshire.

I haven't seen the forum posts, but to anyone with a minimin knowledge of religion, it was clearly a Lutheran and not Catholic church. I think people have confused the disapproval of Eric's parioshioners of his choice in dating with the Catholic 'priests are to be celibate' credo.

Looking forward to finally watch MiT, just starting on Living(cable channel) here in the UK!

WHY ISN'T ABC PROMOTING MEN IN TREES MORE???? IT'S MY FAVORITE SHOW!! THE ONLY ONE THAT IS REALLY ORIGINAL, FUNNY AND CAPTIVATING TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!!!!! GOT TO HAVE IT . . . HURRY UP OCTOBER 12TH!!!

SOMEONE IN THE KNOW, POWER OR WHATEVER NEEDS TO FEED OUR CONCERNS OVER THE NEED FOR MORE PROMOTION. WE DON'T WANT THIS SHOW TO CANCEL...HELP!

Jenny,
Thanks again for keeping us felmoians informed. I am certainly Looking forward for the "special" Season 2 opener in a few days.

I did notice that ABC changed the website layout. It does take a little time to get use to. But what happen to the podcasts? Did they delete them? I was hoping to hear the interviews of the other cast members.

I really enjoy your blog so I will look forward to reading it every week. And please tell Emily Bergl that we miss her celebrity blog. I hope she starts it up again!

Audrey W

Thanks for the update. Texas can't wait to see Alaska!

You and the entire elmo gang are the absolute best. I have friends coming in from 3 states for a Men in Trees party on the 12th --- We are all hooked -

Suzanne from Vancouver

Thanks again for the wonderful new blog Jenny. I'm counting down to the premiere of season 2 & I can't wait to see what will happen. MIT is the BEST show on TV & it's the only thing I watch now!!!
Will there be any more podcasts added to this site? I loved them but they seem to have disappeared - I hope they'll be back, I was looking forward to hearing from everone in the cast, especially Anne of course!!
Thanks for keeping us "Felmos" up to date. My popcorn will be popped & I'll have my blanket ready on October 12th!!

Zoe

I love Men In Trees!!!! Hidden among all of the show on all of the networks I would say MIT's is one of my favorites! PLEASE don't take it away and please air the 27 episodes we have been teased with.

So my question is...When is the show coming back? I want to make sure my DVR is set to record!

Thanks!

KT

~~~Hi Jenny!
Thanks so much for taking
the time to bring us up
to date.
Of course, this long wait
is killing us...but I KNOW it will be worth it!!
Please tell the writers how much we look forward to
their blogs as well as yours.
I like the new *look* of
the website.
The "New Shoes" video is great.
One of Anne's fannes has
set up a nifty countdown
clock in a topic on the
message board at her site.
We will all be watching
Anne when she's Jimmy's guest. We loved it when
he actually discussed
her *fannes* during her other appearance.
I'm very happy to hear
Cash will still be
in Elmo. Will he camping
at Marin's cabin???
Also, cannot wait to see
more of Sam&Jane!
A very happy fanne&felmo,
KT
ps...How's the "Sex and the City" film coming along?
mM
Thank you for the update! I hate that we have another 2+ weeks of no MIT though, I wish we could have had a straight run up to the new season. I know I have more room on my MIT tapes and would have liked to record all the first season shows. Which reminds me, any word on season 1 coming out on DVD?
Can't wait for the new season to begin!!!
Until then, impatiently waiting in Virginia....
Kim
Hi Jenny,
Thanks for keeping us updated through this ridiculously long hiatus. It's good to know you haven't forgotten us. Rest assured, we haven't forgotten you.
So, Cash will be back. That's great, but what about Stuart? I'd really like to see some more of him. And Ian? Will he be around to wreak havoc with Jack?
October 12th may be just around the corner, but it's not soon enough for me.
Getting the popcorn ready (and the blanket, too).
Sometimes love is messy. Thanks for characters that seem real and quirky all at the same time. That's what makes life so interesting. Combining that with a hit cast and a stunning mountain backdrop, what more can we ask? Thanks for keeps us in the loop and hopeful.
I had to get on the website one more time and check to see if MIT is really coming back. I am very disappointed ABC is not promoting it's return as much as the other programs. I have felt all along ABC has jeopardized MIT's success by pushing it around on the network. I am so sick of seeing the other premier shows and thinking any time they will begin letting the veiwers know October 12th is the night to watch! Please help us inform the ABC program execs there are some really dedicated MIT fans out here or we would not have stayed around waiting on any piece of information we can get from this website.
Alaska Girl
I LOVE Men in Trees. I'm Alaskan grown and feel like I'm a bit close to home every time I watch. I am amazed at how well you do Alaska. Seeing as though it's actually Canada! Well done I LOVE MEN IN TREES!!!
Joe
The new website is cool and all, but it has basically NO info on when the new season starts. What time etc. How crazy, why wouldn't you make it easy find the most basic info???
You can't find a date and time anywhere on it. Is it me?
HL
Of course it was a Lutheran church! And didn't he say so at some point?
Bonnie
If I did not have a TV this is the only show I would get one for! I am so sorry that some very strange person at ABC does not like this show and has seemed to do everything they could to drive the fans away, but they really did underestimate the fervor of we Felmonians! I love reading your blogs and all the love for MITs written in response to them. If one were to go by all things ABC you would never know there was any interest in this show at all. It is encouraging and fun to read all the comments by others who are totally wild about this show too. Everything about it is so creative, beautiful (why wasn't I born in Alaska?), funny, heartwarming and always leaves me with a smile on my face at the end of each episode. I guess one good thing about having a DVR is that I could watch the episodes when I needed a break from having nothing interesting to watch on TV, and frankly I am glad I was able to because the writing is so very rich. I missed a lot the first time and even the second time around. I am not a rerun watcher... easily bored... but that is not the case with MITs... in fact each episode got better with each viewing because there was just so much to enjoy. So maybe somebody with some taste at ABC will wise up and try to gather together an audience. MITs is in very good company... ABC did this hold back episodes thing with both GA and BL, so maybe they do have big plans for you all. I certainly hope so. Perhaps they could start by giving you totally amazing writers some more parking spaces!
I'll just be cliche and say it: I *love* Men In Trees! The writing is intelligent & quick-witted; even if the characters are "quirky",( as one poster put it and I agree), but they somehow seem more real to me than many other characters out there. Please, please, please: may the network TV Gods keep Men In Trees going!
Anxious in Ohio
Thanks Jenny for writing your blog and keeping us informed! I am a HUGE fan of MIT, and will be tuned in each week this fall and winter! Thanks for helping promote this fantastic show, and sharing it with us! I love it!
Melissa
Finally we'll get to see some new MIT! Thank you Jenny for keeping us all sane through the long, long, long break!
