We’re baaaackkk…
Hey Elmoians!
Sorry for the very long wait for this next blog entry. (Are you guys still out there? Is this thing on?) I wanted to make triple sure that the info I was giving you for all our next air dates was pretty much air-tight. So here goes:
We will start RE RUNS on June 28th (not the 21st as earlier reported) at 10 pm (Thursdays after Greys Anatomy). You will get to see almost all of your old favorites, starting from the beginning, Thursday nights, all summer. There are one or two that will not air because we don’t have enough time over the summer to squeeze them all in. So, set your Tivos. Have a party. Invite your friends who never got to see our first 16 episodes. Eat. Laugh. Do all those things. Then…buckle your seat belts.
SEASON TWO will start airing FRIDAY NIGHTS at the end of September or beginning of October. This is the one date that they have not released yet—but stay tuned, we will have it well in advance of our premiere.
We started back in the writer’s room last week, and have been having a great time breaking stories for this next season. It is nice to know we have those five episodes we shot last year “banked” for the beginning of this season, because I have to say, I think they are our best episodes so far. And, of course, it’s nice to feel you have already accomplished something when you are staring at a blank, big, daunting white dry erase board . Joining us this year in the writer’s room are David Rosenthal (he ran Gilmore Girls last year and wears lovely shirts), Jennie Snyder (also from Gilmore Girls, her talent, aside from writing, is being able to sleep anywhere at any time) and Mike Kramer (all-around funny guy and very good poker player). Everything is looking peachy for second season. We even moved offices so now we can stare at the Ugly Betty offices and marvel at their number of parking spaces. To be clear, we didn’t move for that reason…it is just an added bonus.
Now that we are up and running after our much-needed hiatus, I will be back to blogging on a regular basis. Please come back often, and, as always, leave a comment. But only good comments. We only have 3 parking spaces and our egos can’t handle it.
Jenny

Thank you so much for the information... I can't wait... My sisters and I love this show (!) and were discouraged when it wasn't on the schedule for so long... It will be great to see the repeats!
Can't wait to see what is in store for everyone in the fall.

YEAH. I am so excited about this. I can't tell you how thankful I am that ABC decided to keep this show. Keep up the great work!

YAY! I have been checking your blog religiously, waiting to hear of the MIT return. Thanks for keeping us informed!

I really have liked Men in Trees from the beginning, as it's fresh and funny. However, I felt it got a little bogged down in sex/bedroom scenes ... come on, in can be much sexier when we don't know everything that's going on in everyone's bedroom and when sex is not always the topic of conversation.
The relationships are great and looking forward to the new episodes for sure.

Finally! It's great to have you back. I was starting to wonder if you deserted us. I am a military wife overseas so I have no idea when I’ll be able to see the shows I missed (and are restarting in June) but I will keep an eye out now that I know you are starting back up in the states! Keep up the great writing. TV needs more shows like MIT!

Yippee. I can't wait for reruns. I watched to episodes online all the time until they took them off. MIT is such a great break and I will be there every Friday to watch it. It is the only show that I can't even wait to record it. I have to watch it as soon as as possible. Thanks for the update and good luck on the writing for the next season.

OMG thank you for the great news!!!!
I have been waiting very patiently for this and it is finally here. I just hope that the powers that be don't change their minds yet again.
I was even considering starting a MIT blitz to ABC similar to the one staged by the "Jericho" followers.
MIT os a quality show and all the juggling around that has been done to it, we might as well start over. I, for one, will take the refresher course..
WooHoo!, can't wait for September to get here..

YEAH!! I am SOOO happy to hear that you are returning in the fall. I will have to refresh my memory of what things are going on with the re-runs. As much as I love the summer time, I can not wait until the fall!! One of my favorite shows is finally coming back!!
Can't wait to read your blogs!! I found it only after the show had stopped airing...so I can't wait to check on Monday mornings to see what you say after the friday night airing!

Thanks for the update. Can't wait to see next season. Will watch this summer. My mother also loves the show ( and she really liked gilmore girls) so I'll tell her about the new writers.. Great job. Thanks again for a really cool show. lots of smiles.

Ofcourse, we are glad to have you back and I am sure everyone felt the way I did....you had to be having a much deserved vacation....I am a big fan of the show and will remain a big fan, but in all honesty, I am afraid to watch any of ABC's new shows fearing I will like one of them and it will disappear....last years shows were very well written, you have a big challenge on your hands to top them....but, ofcourse, when in doubt, just let James Tupper read the phone book and we will be satisfied!!!!!!

I hope the move to Fridays in the fall does not mean ABC is losing faith in MIT. I was hoping the show would stay on Thursdays as that seems to be a more "prime" spot.

Welcome back, Jenny! It is a great surprise to see your new blog today.I've gotten out of the habit of checking daily;no new blogs or even comments for so long.
I am excited to see all the re-runs and further looking forward to the new season. You can be sure I will be an attentive viewer on Fridays. Anytime is the right time for MIT. In the tv business world, it seems Friday night has lower expectations than Thursday.Think of it as less pressure to be commercially mainstream. MIT is a "boutique" show like Gilmore Girls was. Having GG writers seems like a good fit. Good luck to all of you!

Thank you, Thank you Jenny for the update we were all beginning to worry as June was drawing to an end and still no MIT! Can't wait for the the reruns to start so I can enjoy it all over again!

Thank goodness... So good to hear from you again at last. I was getting a little worried. I've been checking almost everyday for weeks now. So I can now let out a great big sigh, relax and get ready for some quality re-runs. I can't wait. I will be passing this info along to my neighbors. They will be thrilled as well. Thank you ABC for not cancelling my favorite show. Now give it some great big hype so it can become the success that I know it should be.

Thanks so much! I have written a t.v. guide magazine and this was going to be my last time logging on this website. I'm very excited about the show coming back and with a good day and time- right after the kids are in bed!

You have made my day!! I can't tell you what the withdrawals have been like without MIT! Starting on the 21st my Thursday nights will be complete. And then I'll have something delicious to watch on Fridays in the fall. You rock!!

I'm so glad to hear you are bringing the MIT show back on the air. I just loved it!!! And have really missed all my favorite characters and the beautiful scenery of the location. Having been to Alaska and Vancouver in the past, It brings back fond memories.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
