We’re still here!: a blog by Jenny Bicks
March 15, 2007
Hey there—
If you are reading this, perhaps you are jonesing for a little Men In Trees. Well I am here to tell you that while we are off for a few weeks, we are far from over! We will be back on the air at the latest on April 12th in our old time slot and then we have five new episodes to show you. I will be able to give you a precise air date for our new episodes in the next two weeks…but it will be no later than that April 12th date…
It has been so great to read all of your comments here and elsewhere. We so appreciate the love you have shown our show and the…gosh darn tenacity…you guys show in continuing to contact us and the network. It reminds me of my dog Trixie. She is this 15- pound Border Terrier, but you do not want to cross her. She becomes like a 200-pound Doberman. That’s what our fans are. The 200 pound Doberman dressed as sweet, smart, normal people…until you cross them and take our show off the air for a few weeks. You go, fans!
Okay. So I just wrote the last episode of the season. Note: I said “of the season”, not “of the series.” It is big. Our last two episodes are a 2-parter and I have to say quite a bit happens. Stuff you may not see coming. We’ve got it all—Cash, Danny, more Sam and Jane drama, Marin and Jack drama, a storm, a wedding, a proposal, an accident, a pack of hungry wolves…well, you’ll see. Upon finishing this last episode I promptly got sick and took to my bed for three days. This is what happens after you are done writing a season—your body literally gives out on you. Today I am up and around and feel like I have at least another season in me…
So keep writing, you guys. And we will keep writing back. It will make the time pass much more quickly, I promise. Also soon, our podcast will be up and running on this site, so make sure to check back!
Jenny

I just love your show, I'm a big fan! I've watched every episode since it first came on! My name is Stacey and I am from Oregon, watching your show is giving some people more awareness to the outdoors and nature's creature's! I just hope you keep this show on, it's nice to see a show that isn't already on the air! I am a country girl all the way, but I now live in the city! So I'm like a Marin but the complete opposite! I know alot of people who watch this show and who want to continue to watch it! The character's are great and you never get tired of the plot! It makes me look forward to seeing the next episode! Plus I bet it's giving Alaska some new found fame as well, we ARE getting into "tourist season!" Thanks for writing a great show, keep up the great work!

Glad to hear MIT will be back with more new episodes. Grey's Anatomy and MIT are my Thursday night line up. Love them both and look forward to them every week. Can't hardly wait until next month to see what happen's next!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for the update on when it will be on "AT THE LATEST" (yes I did pick up on that phrase). I have become so addicted to MIT that in its absence I am becoming addicted to this weblog. Wow!!! It is so great to hear everyone loving this show as much as I do. Whoever wrote that ABC is doing a poor job at advertising MIT could not have hit the nail on the head any better. The way that this show captures new viewers after just one episode is incredible. (Props for the writing and the acting, by the way.) ABC needs to just figure it out that they have an absolute hit that is capable of surpassing the fan followings of past greats such as Friends, Seinfield... a little spent now on advertising MIT is capable of ballooning into a cultural frenzy. This show is destined to not only complete this season but to run for years to come. Even then the fan base would be there to watch it go into sindication. You go team! Don't let the ABC fools rain on your parade. Your time has come and you are on fire!!!

I am thrilled to hear this show is going to continue. I have been watching from the very beginning and I love it. Congrats on a truly great show that is refreshing, sensitive, hilarious, and enticing. I always look forward to the next episode.

Thank you for this cute, clever, quirky series. The characters are great. The story is fresh. The scenery is awesome. It made my day to learn that it is only on hiatus. It needs to stay around for a good long run. Nothing else on TV comes close to this entertaining series. We need this available on DVD.

I'm embarrased to say that while not liking the show when it first came on, I've become a fan and have really missed it - to the point of being sentimental about it! I'm glad you are coming back.

I'm so glad to hear that "Men in Trees" is not off the air. The network never announced when the next episode will be shown, leaving me to think the show may have been canceled. I enjoy the show because it is just so different. It is a refreshing change from harsh crime dramas and ridiculous reality shows. The actors are wonderful, and the episodes are just fun to watch. Keep them coming!

So good to read your blog. Thanks. The show is great and I can't wait for the next episodes.

I am embarrassed to admit how excited I am to find this new blog from you, Jenny. And the excitement I feel about the upcoming episodes - I loved how there was no mention of a certain L-woman in your list of upcoming things. I'm hoping that wasn't just an oversight (for fear of the backlash) on your part ;-)
Yesterday I posted an unbelievably long message (sorry) in the previous blog, and won't bore everyone to death by reiterating it all again. But suffice it to say that I think you have created pure magic with this show. I am from New Zealand and have friends all over the world who love this show. And I mean adore!!!! It's an all or nothing kind of a fanbase with this show that brings out the Dormant Doberman in you - HAHAHAHA. Ain't that the truth.
CAN'T WAIT to see what you've got up your sleeve for this AND the next seasonS!!
P.S. Glad that you're going to make Jack go through much blood, sweat and tears to win Marin's trust back. He will always have her affections and heart, but that doesn't mean she has to (or should) freely take him back no questions asked after this Lynn fiasco!!

Thanks for letting us know that the show will be back! I was horrified to just see the previews of ...what is it -October Road? coming up at 10:00? I don't know what time or day any shows come on- I just channel surf. But, I'm here every Thurs night by 9:30 (Men In Trees comes on at 10:00) just to make sure that I don't miss a minute. Keep up the great work! I just read somewhere this past weekend that the viewership (is that a word?) was up by over 2 million. Let us know if we ever need to do anything to insure the continuation of "our show"

Yeah! Thanks for the update. Can't wait to see what you have for us!

Hurry back!!!!!!Please.

We couldn't imagine why ABC discontinued Men in Trees....and we kept hoping it would return. There is so much "nothing" on TV even with 100 channels...and Men in Trees was about the only show still worth watching. Glad to hear it's coming back but don't stay away so long next time.

What a relief! I have been so bummed the past few Thursdays! I really love the show!
Can't wait until April!
BTW - are y'all going to release season 1 on DVD? That would be great!!!
Thanks again!

I forgot to mention - I think that ABC should switch MIT and Grey's on Thursdays. It would be great to have MIT on at 9.
Thanks!
