Checking in with Matt and Shayne

Hey, I've been curious about these guys.  Here's Matt and Shayne from this past season's The Bachelor.  I don't know if I'm in love with the new short haircut, but nobody's asking me.

We watch a little retrospective of their relationship.  Watching the final rose ceremony brings tears to Shayne's eyes. 

Since the show ended, they've become engaged and now Matt is living in Los Angeles with Shayne.  They put to rest some rumours - yes, they are still a couple.  No, Matt did not propose to her in order to get a green card.  As Matt points out, there are easier ways to secure a green card.  Good point.

I don't know, they seem pretty happy together.  Chris is right, they do act like an old married couple.

I think they looked happy together. He loves her, because she's fresh, she's fun... if they can keep it up they it will last forever. After a while things like that tend to wear off and other things are important. It looks like they are in love; Hopefully they won't get bored with each other.

I think Shayne comes off indifferent but that's just her personality. She might be more mature than her age. I didn't see the finale & after the final rose yet, maybe their dynamic has changed. who knows? I guess it's their lives, though - same goes for DeAnna and Jesse. Jason seemed like such a nicer fit for her, though!

I don't know how many of you are aware of immigration law, but to get a green card via marriage to an American cost a great deal(I have friends that went through the process, they met through a university research facility..ie both are intelligent people with PhD's) and you go through many interviews/interrogation sessions to see if you are just in it for the green card or not..then when you marry, you had better not get a divorce within 2 years..I wonder how much of this is understood by our "happily engaged" couple???

OMG! Shayne and Matt are such a cute couple! I hope they get married soon. I would love to see their wedding televised...or receive a personal invitation, haha. I feel like I know them! I love how he calls her "monkey," that is adorable!

They are so cute together but I honestly think Matt will get sick of Shayne very shortly. I don't think they will ever get married but I hope I'm wrong!

If this couple could have been any more "hollywood" typical stereotypes than they have turned into, geez. Have they ever. He loves LA, probably fits right into the scene and her going out with her "friends" and he doesn't mind, probably not, he must have his own "friends". This is going to break up so fast, she is such a slut, and looks the part. And I have no respect for that man, typical British guy for you.

i don't think this couple is going to last. I see the body language from Shayne and i now they both are acting. I think Matt is the stupidest guy that I have ever seen. He needs to learn in life a lot, i mean a lot, to really find what he thinks is the truth love.

As much as it pains me to say this, I am afraid that Shayne is calling the shots here, and at 22 she is not very mature. They did not look like a couple in love. She is out partying with her friends, and Matt relocated from London and seems a little lost in L.A., if I am reading his body language correctly. I hope he dumps Shayne, and that he gets back on the Bachelor to find someone who is truly worthy of him. Matt, you can do better than Shayne. She seems sweet enough, but doesn't seem like she is mature enough to really meet anyone's needs other than her own. Good luck, Matt!

The "Becker-wanna-be" couple won't make it. Its all too hollywood. Wake up and smell the coconut suntan oil Matt !!! Shayne the actress got exactally what she wanted... exposure for her career. Her father even told you so !!!

I think this girl is CRAZY, Jesse is OK to have fun with, and to go play in the snow...but that is just about it!!!he has nothing to offer, not even looks!!!
I guess she is not what she seemed to be, I cannot believe she suffers from "no one home in my brain syndrome"

I think that Deanna made a wise decision. She chose the underdog, which always intrigues people. More than likely, Jesse and Deanna will be paid BIG MONEY to allow their May Wedding to be televised. (Just like Trisha and Ryan). It was reported that Trisha and Ryan were paid 1 million doallars to allow their wedding to be televised. Hey, Deanna and Jesse would be crazy not to cash in.

The "relationship" between Matt and Shayne is about as real as Michael Jackson's nose!

watching the show i loved shayne. I was so happy when he picked her. But boy was i stupid.. i think they are already basically broken up. shayne didn't even look at matt last night. i fell so bad for him.. but its his fault he picked her.

Shayne usually speaks in a monotone manner because it's a known fact in Hollywood, that you must smile &/or frown as little as possible, in order to avoid getting wrinkles around your mouth & eyes, later on! As for the way she usually hangs on him like "a monkey"...HOW THE H#LL CAN ANY GUY LIKE THAT?!

I think thy don't have to tell everyone, that means the world about what they do!!!! To me they look and act like a normal couple, a new at that too!!! I see the love in their eyes and their movements, to each other. I know when I was engaged, I wasn't sitting on his lap horse style. Hello people, think about yourselves. Before you judge someone. The other couple wanted to show everything, because it was just announced to the family's. I wouyldn't want my child to make the worge choice, would you, And on TV in front of millions of people. I know the odd's, but people, come on. You never know, love can happen. Or this TV Show will not get anymore viewers. It would be watching at sex show, like VH-1. Thank You ;-)

When showing the clip of their final rose I saw no emotion from Shayne. I wouldn't have known she was crying unless Chris mentioned it. Matt's arm was around her but it didn't look to be on her shoulder. She didn't hang on him/touch him like she used to. I've never seen her act (has she ever been in anything?) but she didn't seem to be putting on a good show last night.

Turn off the volume and just watch the body language. Shayne is leaning away from Matt the whole time. No smiling, no looking at him, and she was rolling her eyes at everything he said. Then she just wacks him. She didnt have to show her ring to "prove" they were engaged. Her actions said it all. It was obvious that she couldn't stand him and everything coming out of their mouths was completely fake.

Shayne seems shallow and fake when she's explaining about supposed "friends". I don't think their actually living together either. They don't even seem slightly right for each other and if they really are still together- they wont be for long.
